The manual talks about automatic load levelling "if so equipped". How do I know if my 300C AWD is "so equipped"? What do I look for?

If your car has the tow package, then it has the self leveling rear shocks.
Look on the window sticker that came on the car.

Hi dragon

Applies to rear shocks on the 300c European station wagon version (confusingly called the Touring)

read the last two paragraphs of this:.

The 300c SRT8 also has (non-leveling) Bilstein gas fronts and Self-leveling Nivomat rears listed for shocks.

I have not seen Nivomats listed as a North American option for the 300c AWD.

If it is important to you: then you could possibly retrofit them, as the shocks are totally mechanical - non electrical - in operation.
