So, last night while getting out of the car I noticed my driver's side HID was out. Upon reentering the car to grab my phone the light came back on. So it's intermittent. I keep a pretty close eye on my lights in the trunks of cars and street windows so I imagine this is a pretty new problem. Another weird issue is if the auto setting is on for the headlights it turns on about 95% of the time, while manually switching it will most likely do nothing. I've read the headlight switches for 05-06 models were kind of prone to issue, but this almost an ignition issue rather than a sudden cutout. I also swapped the bulbs back and forth to troubleshoot and the light worked... again weird. Anyway, I'm in kind of a lucky situation as I bought a HID headlight assembly last week (I LOVE KIJIJI) and it came with an OEM ballast and an OSRAM 4300K bulb. Worst case scenario I swap out the bad ballast for the one I just got. I've done some research and it sounds like the ballast, it doesn't really sound similar to anything else I've come across. I just want a second opinion before I drop the nose and swap it out (potentially for nothing). Thanks again, lemme know your thoughts?

Make sure the headlamp ground wire connection (located just behind the headlamp assembly) to the body is clean and tight.

Good tip! I tried testing another set of bulbs (have a couple laying around) and they worked fine. It turns out it was the bulb. Problem was it was working intermittently. Thanks for the response, I'll keep that in mind when I re/install the headlights.
