I had to replace my original Mopar battery in my 2014 CRD about a year ago (it wouldn't hold a charge) - so after 8 years or so.

I bought a Bosch S5 battery which has a 5 year warranty. I think you can get those from Bosch Service Centers in some parts of the US.

Two ways:
1. Open the bonnet (using the key to open the passenger door if needed), attach a 12v power source to the jump start attachments (driver's side under the bonnet) and open the boot as normal
2. The hard way - drop the back seats, crawl into then boot (with a torch and small screwdriver), find the slot through the inner liner on the boot next to the lock, you'll see a small metal circle, click that to open the boot

Make sure you don't shut the boot again until a new battery is installed!
