Done installation of my Michelin PSS 275/35/20 all round. Tire height reduced to 1cm compared to the 245/45s. SO a bit more fender tire gap there but imo hardly noticeable. Another factor is its a tad bit harsher running these tires as there is less rubber or sidewall for the road shock absorption.

I'm running Toyo Proxy4 on my 2006 300C SRT8, though I bought the car with these tires on there. 275/40s all around and will probably go with the same size, again. Though, thought about the 275/45s to get a little softer ride.

Resurrecting this thread because I'm finally ready to purchase tires for my 2006 SRT8 that is my daily driver. Currently have the Proxes4s now @275/40 all around. I like the look, although would like to fill the wheel well up a bit more, but understand the rubbing issue. I prefer not to go down to 275/35s have even more space in that well.

The roads here in Portland, OR have a rough surface, not really pot-holey, but a worn-rough surface caused by years of studded tires rolling over them. The Proxes on this surface are pretty loud and the sound radiates into the cabin...boooo.

To date, I have considered the:
General G-Max which I was really high on until reading more and more and found a surprising number of negative reviews;
Toyo Proxes 4+ which gets solid reviews all around;
Hankook V12 Evo2 which also gets positive reviews, but I am concerned about it being a "summer" tire. Not a lot of snow or ice here, but it is very wet in the winter and the temps can drop into the low 30s. Also, it appears that they don't come in 275/40, but 275/35...ewwww;
Pilot Super Sports are just too expensive, though I did have them on my 300M Special and they were the cat's tail;
Nitto Motivo and saw a fair number of negative reviews that have puched me off of them.

I think I've narrowed this down to the Toyo's and General's.

Though, having just seen the above post re: the Yoko's will check those out. Anyone else here run the Yoko's?

Thanks, kooooop. What about sizing, though. Id prefer not to create more open space in the wheel well with a 35 aspect ratio.
I don't know about sizing for your car, I have a Gen II. Either they come in the size you want or they don't.

I was absolutely shocked at how good these tires stick in the rain.

Expensive yet Michelin Pilot Super Sport provides reliable grip on dry and wet roads, and will last longer compared hankook.
With nearly 500hp available the SRT indiscriminately vaporizes the PSS or the V12.

I'll get over 20,000 miles out of my current set of V12's which are nearly done. And the V12 is quieter than the pilot sports I've run.

Nothing beats Michelin. Inventor the the radial tire, run flat tires, and progressive rubber compounds. Someone wrote in this thread they wouldn't buy anything made in France, well if they were referring to Michelins, the North American market is served by Michelin with tires made in the USA and or Canada. BFGoodrich and Uniroyal are owned by Micheline. So for that person not buying tires made in France, I would say I would never buy a tire made in Japan.

I love my BFG Sport Comp 2s. A summer tire, but they are AMAZING in the wet. Great grip, but you can break them loose if you WANT to. I had a set on my 06 SRT8, and just got new wheels and tires for my 2013 SRT8 and went with the same BFGs. Just my .02

I have Yoko Adven 245-45-20 love the quite ride and handling but they are slimmer than the GY AS 2 and I am worried about curb rash on the wheel... I am thinking about switching them out for the Yoko 275 which would be wider but the actual part that touches the pavement is 9" same as OEM GY AS2 which is fine, but they will weigh almost 4lbs more than OEM. is that enough to notice in my daily drive or gas milage etc.?? please help me decide
