Title pretty much says it all. I'm in BG status but don't have a VIN# yet. What's the point in putting an order on hold if it's not even allocated? Or is it allocated? mwaaaaaaahhhaaaaaaaaaa.......
Yep. I hear ya'. The one dealer (where I'm BG) tells me I'm 3rd in line. The other dealer (who I suspect will get allocation sooner than the other) won't even put the order in because he has no allocation. That's what I like about them. They're straight up about it. But I'm 1st in line when he gets another one. If DCX opens back up in the beginning of April, he's confident that he's getting at least one, may'be more.need4speed said:No kidding .....
I guess I've learned that if a dealer doesn't have allocation .. it really doesn't matter that you put in an order at all .....
No allocation ... no car for you ..... (or me it seems)
Let's hope. At least he doesn't white wash it. If he's not getting any in April, he'll tell me. If he's not getting any in May, he'll tell me..etc.rt4 said:On "normal" cars, you would have orders in BG waiting until you got allocation, b/c you are sure they'll get built. Like with 300Cs, we got allocated maybe 6-8 per month, but we'd have 12 orders in. That would mean that everyone who ordered one got one, but it may take 3,4,5 months. Which is why we were always on top of things, and were able to quote accurate wait times.
This issue with the SRT8 is that placing 3 orders doesn't mean that all 3 will get built, b/c of the extreme difference between supply and demand. I do not agree with placing orders before allocation on SRT8s. They should be sold as allocation comes in. Hopefully the dealership where you're 1st in line, Dan, will get allocation the next time its available.
