Attached are some photos of my blacked-out 2006 SRT8. The "in-progress" list of modifications thus far are as follows . . .
-Body-match painted the grill, the wings on the trunk, and the two chrome pieces around each window
-Body-side moldings and badges removed
-Medium tinted tail and side marker lights
-13% window tint on doors and 5% on rear window
-Aluminum race pedals with powder-coated dead pedal
-Reduced Intensity Daytime Running Lights module
-Pulsating High Mounted Center Brake Light module
-PIAA Extreme White Plus High Beam Bulbs
-HOEN Xenonmatch Fog Light Bulbs
-Silver Coated Front Signal Bulbs
-Xpel Headlight and Fog light protection film
Car looks Baaaaaaddddddd... I see you are in AZ, think we may see you at the Scottsdale Pavilions car show some Saturday night? It is near the Casino on Indian Bend and 101.
By the way, what is this for "B-QUIET Ultimate Sound Deadener and Vcomp Sound Barrier througho"?
Thank you H4ME and Reno; definitely plan to make out to the Pavilions for one of the get-togethers!
The B-QUIET Sound Deadening materials is similar, but better and less expensive IMHO, to the Dynomat materials.
The brake light module is nice . . . you have two different "pulse" settings to get people's attention. With the tinted windows and tails, I did not want to disappear into the night entirely . . . particularly when putting on the brakes! SignalDynamics BackOff XP module is what you are looking for!
That looks great. I always wanted to see this done. How much was it to black out the chrome around the window? I think you should paint the rims black. It would complete the stealthy sinister look. Or even better, you could go aftermarket like these.
I love the ride... i really like the look once the side emblems are removed... i'm thinking you gotta do something about the wheels....
I really like the side darkened side markers.... half of your other mods i never heard of and don't know what they mean... but i like the theme... similar to mine... but i think better....black, black, black.
Appreciate the kind words folks! It has been fun, and time consuming, matching my car to the vision I've had since seeing photos here of the first black SRT8s delivered. The Mrs. has threatened to make me live out of the car if I keep spending all my hours in the garage on the weekends with the mistress.
As for the wheels, no need to paint them black - they are constantly covered by black brake dust! :wink1:
JC, I actually had the smoked film protection on both the headlights and fogs, but thought it was too much for some reason. Perhaps because the silver of the lights up front plays off the rims nicely.
JV, the paint work on the grill, window trim, belt moldings and rear wings was done by James' (22Elite) paint guy. Speaking of which, two of my favorite mods are the armrests and center console cover. They seamlessly extend the comfort and style of the SRT8 seats to the door panels and center console. Highly recommended!
foody, the performance mods are definitely coming . . . .

you know what.....i just saw a pic of a black 300 with the tinted headlights and you're right.....it is a little too much. The tinted sidemarkers is a really nice touch though. Amazing how much different the car looks without the side molding and badges......my wife kept looking at mine trying to figure out what was different.......funny thing was she actually thought I spent money on SOMETHING, but couldn't figure it out. She said it "looked like I spent some $$$.......
 .........sweet
Obviously gorgeous ride BUT.......not quite my taste all blacked out. I mean wheels, grille, wings etc. okay, but to paint the chrome trim and remove the molding is a bit excessive. This is one of those mods that are done just to be differn't , not because it makes the car look better. No chrome screams LX... IMO of course... Also, the stock grille is booty PERIOD. especially painted all black, dissapears into the front end and looks plastic. Ohyeah it is!
the stock grill looks right on the SRT8 though........to me it just GOES with our wheels..........black or chrome, I think it looks mean as hell.......car keeps it's edge with the GIANT GRATE grill..........the all blacked out really looks good to me :wink1: very clean and all business.............
If you're rollin all stock wheels etc. than I guess the OEM grille is cool (If I had the srt I'd roll 20's etc.), but to go and powder coat the plastic stocker is pretty lame IMO.
