Blotchy-Looking Side Windows

Hello all. I looked at my side windows (both the fronts and the rears) today through my new polarized lenses (sunglasses) and noticed that all of the windows look blotchy...intermittent dark spots about the size of a US quarter (twenty-five cent piece). This problem is not apparent with the windshield, nor did I really notice this with the rear window either. I was wondering if anybody else has noticed this on their own 300 models, and might this just explain the meaning of the 'solar glass' feature? Either way, I'll be asking my dealer tomorrow morning about this

Yep,

It is "normal". This is the price we pay for having the benefit of solar windows. Kinda sucks IMO. I like to wear sunglasses on sunny days, and it really ruins looking out your side windows when you have to look thru all those splotches.

I was curious if getting your windows tinted would reduce this effect when looking thru sunglasses? Can anyone who has tinted their windows tell us if the effect is made better or worse?

If you didn't buy such nice glasses, you wouldn't have this problem. ;) Seriously though, probably 95% of the people wearing sunglasses do not see this effect. It only happens with quality polarized sunglasses.

Thanks for the heads-up guys. I'll disregard mentioning this to my dealer so that I don't appear to be more stupid than I already am... ;)

I'll be having the side windows tinted next week, so I'll see if things might look a little different then. I actually never had polarizing sunglasses before...I'll definitely agree that they sure make my windows appear strange-looking. Thanks again :)
