Me too... The rear passenger.

I took the car to the dealer and they ordered me a new one. It took a month to come in. They did not even call me to tell me that it had arived. I called and they said "oh yea, it came in last week", I was furious  . I made and appointment and droped the car off the next morning. On the afternnon when I went to pick it up I get in the car to check out the "NEW" speaker and the speaker was blown too  . I called a manager and he said "yea, it sounds blown". They supposedly changed it. They are ordering me a new one. Its been two weeks already. I call them and they dont know the status  . Service Department Sucks :( .

Same "service" problem with a Nav unit. I wonder it's DC and not the dealer?

Mayrland,

Was you playing the stereo to the point the speakers were distorting? If so, they will blow again. Doyou have the sound group II option? You may want to invest in a aftermarket speaker system.

Me personaly, I have not played the stereo to the point the speaker were distorting. I keep it under 15 on the volume. The factory speakers must really suck or there is something hiting it and poping it  . Either way, Chrysler Service is Negative Five Stars.

I have SGII and couldn't imagine the speakers blowing. Mine is very clear at full volume, but not nearly as loud as I think it should be. I think the volume is capped to prevent speaker damage. If they do blow at that level, then they really are crap.

I do not have SGII, but my passenger side front door speaker is blown. I do play it pretty loud, (but not a lot of bass) and listen to a lot of talk radio. But, yes, the speakers are the first thing to get ousted, a new higher quality amp and speakers are definitely a must. I won't even let the dealer take off my door panel to replace the blown speaker with another factory POS. god knows they'd find a way to mess that up, too.

Well, they finaly fixed the problem. I had to talk to the "Director of Fixed Operations" at Greenway Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Orlando Fl. I guess he is the highest person at the service dept. Well, he looked at it that same day and noticed that there was a recall or something about 300s without the woofer on the rear deck. There is a "plug" covering the hole where the woofer would go and it supposedly comes out of place and vibrates. It makes the rear deck sound like there is a blown speaker. To make the story short. They added insulation tape and now it does not make the noice anymore.
