Another member had a smoking problem, also. Maybe he'll chime in to say if it was resolved or not. Do a search of this forum.

They did use 0W-40, the smoke came out the exhaust for a few seconds and a lot of it and then stopped, seemed okay when i started a few times after.sjz said:I hope they used 0W-40 or 5W-40 synthetic, and not 5W-30 or whatever is recomended for the non SRT8.

I'm headed to the dealer today to find out what's up.BBSRT8 said:Mine smoked quite a bit when I started it the other day after it had been sitting for about 5 days. After getting out to investigate, the smoke was white and smelled like unburned fuel. It cleared up after about 15 seconds and hasn't returned since,

"Only"?!?!WhiteDiamond said:it has only done this smoke thing probably 12 to 15 times.
This is the problem, though, as it is so random it has been very hard for me to schedule it into the dealer and force the Magnum to do it while there. While I may have some influence over somethings in my life, I seem to have none when it comes to getting this car to repeat this problem. It is very difficult to work with and doesn't readily lend itself to diagnosis(It is my belief right now that a particular valve guide is the problem and it is only a problem when the car is shut down with the valve in a particular position...say fully opened, partially opened...whatever). If it was just a guide issue, it should do it on every start up. If it was a ring issue, it would possibly not be noticed at all or burn while driving(which it doesn't, I have followed it with my wife driving to check).JustForFun said:"Only"?!?!
That is WAY more than I would be happy to live with.

I think someone here is trying to provoke the "clowns" here. You could of course tell him you were using 5-30W oil initially. That is until you edited all your posts. Who are the clowns BTW?WhiteDiamond said:Glad to see the resident oil clowns are staying out of it.

I will look forward to hearing if they can duplicate it or not. I have not had that luck.MIKEY said:Just got back from the dealer they kept the car and will check it out monday. Gave me upgraded vehicle until problem is solved. I'm really worried i have a major problem.
Good Luck!!! I know your worried, but I'm sure it will be taken care of to your satisfaction, and if it's not, stay on them until it is.MIKEY said:Just got back from the dealer they kept the car and will check it out monday.
