(MOVED FROM General location)

I installed a Motorola T605 Bluetooth CarKit is my 2007 300C w/nav car. The kit is fully installed and works fine. I want to take it a step further. I know my Nav Radio in my car has the ability to control a phone function. I did not get the phone function.

There should be a "UConnect" function on my radio. I need a schematic of the wiring ports which comes from my radio. I should be able to find a phone sense line which can mute my radio during an incoming call. I might also get luck and locate an audio-in line to play the phone calls out of my car speakers.

Do anyone have a schematic or wiring diagram for a 2007 300C AM/FM/CD (6-Disc) Radio w/Navigation System?

After reading other threads I am well aware of the 2 connectors on the rear of the radio. My problem is I need to know and understand the functions of each line so I can hook up my idea. Can someone help? I do know that three wires on the smaller connector contains the audio signals for the Sirius radio. I can use these lines to stream music for an external audio source. I need to know if there is a “Phone In-call” line which lets the radio know my phone is in a call.:pat:

are you looking for a mute wire? I suspect all of the signalling is
done via the can-bus......If you can find a can-bus adapter to
interface with your blue-tooth kit you might have something.....

One thing I may have overlooked is whether there is a hands-free module
in the car. I don't know if that gets mounted when the u-connect is, or
if it's there already, making u-connect a plug-n-play application.

If it is there it would be behind the glovebox.....it may have a telephone
wire it its harness, but I would defer to the experts before experimenting
with it.....

May need more

Is there anything I can read that can help me better understand this car's can-bus. I might can be a big help for future ways to tap into a car's audio/security/etc system. That's my background. Electronics. I love car electronics. I want to start with a schematic/wiring diagram. I still need to locate that. Any idea on how to get the wiring diagram to my radio.

My wife has a 2006 CTS Cadillac and I have her car hooked up with a bluetooth car kit, flip down TV, hightech Alarm the works. Done it all myself.

I purchased my 300C only 2 week ago. I am ready to learn about my car's electronic system so I can go to work.

Can you help me find the experts on this subject.

try the folks at can-hack.org for all things can-bus. I take it the
cadillac has a simpler implementation of things, but for the 300,
there are a lot of signals that are sent via a single wire pair. I think
the purpose was to lessen the total number of wires between components
that need to communicate.

Example,

volume and fader control: On 300's that have a factory amp, the radio
has only a single stereo pair that feeds into the amp. The fader control
is done via can-bus signals from the radio to the amp, and the amp
does the fader control. Likewise, the volume control is a signal from
the radio to the amp.

The radio is smart enough to vary volume which the connection to
the amp is removed, but you will no longer have fader control, u-connect
hands free, nav voice, etc. All of these are can-bus signals into the
amp from the nav unit and hands-free module.
