So after years of lusting over W124s, W201s, W211s, I found an awesome deal for a 2012 V6 and just had to buy it. Given the price (roughly 50% lower than the market value here in the PH) I figured the issues it could possibly have are manageable considering the discount I was getting.

I'm trying to document as much of this ownership as possible, this is my second car but my first "luxury" one I would say. Coming from a '95 Civic sedan (which I totaled 5 years prior) I am intrigued and excited with how this story turns out.

So far some issues I noticed since taking it home are:

• • Air recirculation only works at 22 degrees and above (Thinking this is a humidifier sensor issue)
  • ABS/BAS/ESP lights all on
  • ACC/FCW OFF
  • TPMS for both front tires don't work (service prompt)
  • Heavy steering at low speeds
  • Left rear suspension creaking (moving or not)
  • Steering column won't go up or down but telescopic motor works
  • Seems to have the remote start function but cant get it to work
  • just being super sexy and classy...

I'm looking to meet with a Chrysler Specialist in the coming weeks, definitely keeping this updated.

You have a few issues to resolve it seems, but if you got a good deal and have the patience to tackle them, you'll be just fine. Keep us posted and welcome to the board!

I had a 2012 with this same problem. Many people here told me to replace the dang humidity sensor. I did that myself but it remained on external air. My dealer replaced the environmental control module (for another problem) and that didn't fix it either. Good luck!

I now have a 2020 and the new one is working just fine, thank you.

Nice car, it looks super clean. The grille looks like an aftermarket one from a company called Topline (check eBay). The Civic is a great car but it’s definitely not luxurious.

That's an aftermarket grille rather than original equipment. If you have a check engine light on or other system failure notice, the remote start will not work. I have a 2012 300 Limited that I bought new and it's been well cared for but it's too much fun to drive with its solid cornering so I'm a bit hard on tires.

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice and kind words, had a few things changed and fixed:

• ABS lights have been confirmed to be a faulty module, Mopar's backed up on orders and shop tells me the part's currently discontinued, leaving that in hibernation for now but if anyone can help me look for one I'd be happier than a pig in sh*t (Part# 68154647AA)
• Steering issue has been resolved with a fluid top up, happy that there wasn't anything wrong with the pump. Shop says it could cost me close to $2K + labor
• Had the shocks checked due to some kind of moaning/creaking sounds but looks to be all good on the bounce rate and no leaks found, I'm thinking of getting coilovers when I get new wheels as well.
• Ordered aftermarket taillights and headlights are being de-chromed and detailed right now, I'm prepping the car to be painted Destroyer Gray in the future with a hellcat hood
• Lastly, new humidity sensor is on the way, have confirmed with a scan that was the issue on the air recirculation not working intermittently

Month 2 of ownership has been pretty smooth overall, a bit glad that not everything is a complete mess and there's so much that's about to get done

Great looking ride. I like it when an owner takes an interest and stays after the issues/problems. You may want to look further re the Power Steering fluid, that is, where it got to ?

4th Month Update:
Here's how he looks now:

Had a few mishaps along the way,

• Had to tow it due to a service shifter error + speed sensor issues, replaced
• Engine had some small leaks both head gaskets were replaced
• Humidity sensor is all good now bought one from Amazon and works like a charm
• Headlights dechromed, new aftermarket taillights. They look great
• Wrapped the roof with gloss black film
• Put in some Challenger spec Project 6GR Sevens, 20x9.5 ET14 with Lexani LX-Twenty 275/40/R20 tires (Looking for 5x115 wheels was a nightmare here in the Philippines)
• Still getting noises from the rear shocks at low speed, thinking of replacing the entire suspension with Bilstein B6s and Eibach Pro Kit springs (still asking around about the ride quality though)
• ABS Module still in indefinite backorder, I'm hoping the situation gets better so I can get it back up to 100%

Things have gone quiet pricey but mostly because of the mods I want but overall I love how the car is turning out

I just spotted a shark fin satellite antenna... As I mentioned above, I bought a 2012 in the States and it had one of those rectangular pucks. Yours has the shark fin antenna like my 2020 does. (I thought Chrysler switched to the shark fin in 2015.)

Where are you? To me, PH means the Philippines.

1 Year Of Ownership

Happy New Year 2023! It's been a loooong while since my last update, I have been truly truly happy with this car.

I was able to resolve my biggest issue which is the discontinued ABS Module, bought an entire ABS assembly from a 2013 v8 and the install and recalibration was a success!

I've taken it off to many spirited drives across tight roads and big highways, the car doesn't disappoint. It's just right for my driving style. Although, I don't really drive everyday, it has become something I look forward to on a stressful day and it does help me feel better whenever I drive it.

Some few issues that have popped up over the past year are just a few bushing replacements and the shocks might be on their way hence the sound I have complained about since Day 1. I'm looking to do an S Appearance Package bumper as well, just trying to get the logistics sorted out.

Overall the car is STILL amazing and I just keep falling in love with it everyday!
