Mine did that too, just a subtle click that you could almost feel more than hear I thought maybe the pedal was loose. I had it checked during service at the dealer once and they didn't find anything wrong but it still did it after I left. I haven't noticed it in quite a while though & your post just reminded me of it. I'm at around 9k miles now and it seems to have gone away!

Yep, I have the same thing. A very subtle click that it looks like it's coming from the pedal assembly rather than anything else. Dealer "lubricated the area", but lo and behold :surprised , it didn't fix it!

prolly the brake switch

I have felt this in many other cars as well- its probably the micro switch associated with the brake lights and perhaps the gear lever disabler/enabler (until this switch goes off)..
My educated guess..

There was a thread on this last Summer, no one ever found out what it was, mine has gone away (not the brakes).

Do you have passengers in your vehicle when this occurs. I think I may have had the same occurence only one time when I had 4 people in the car with me when trying to brake. I assuming it was the extra weight in this case.

Nothing Amiss

NautcaSprt6 et al.

Why don't you make a stethoscope using some small bore plastic tubing, and listen to the switch, while you of another press the brake pedal, this might save a trip to the dealer - switch clicking is normal.

Some of my previous cars the brake clevis pin make a slight clicking noise, as the slack was taken up when pushing the pedal - again no problem.

Guys, I'm the one who posted the original thread on this. I had it checked out by my dealer and they said it was normal. It has gotten better though, it does not happen as frequently as when I first bought the car. I now have about 16K on my odometer.

At just over 10K miles I have been noticing it more often than not over the last few weeks. Perhaps audible (but barely over the Sirius sounds), but definitely a feeling in the right foot that the pedal just moved very easily. It doesn't seem to happen under light braking (long, slow stop with foot barely pressing the pedal enough just to light up the brake lights to let the guy behind know I'm slowing down) as compared to a normal stop. I doubt that it is the brake light switch as the brake lights come on/cruise control goes off at the slightest touch of the pedal, so the switch has done all of the switch 'clicking' it's gonna do, other than it is physically moving on its mounting.
I'd say that continued monitoring is all that is required.

Well, after about 4,500 miles on the odometer, my brake pedal started making the same annoying 'clicking' sound as the rest of you have also been experiencing. This past week, I received the same usual response...'We were unable to duplicate the problem!"...the same convenient 'canned response' whenever my dealer can't seem to determine the cause of a particular problem. So, like with my mysterious intermittent transmission 'lurching' problem, I was instructed to bring it once again after the next incident. :dunno:

P.S. They were at least able to 'fix' (per a DCX 'TSB') the irritating windshield/dashboard 'clacking' noise which has been inherent since 'day one'. :fing02:
