Drill a small hole in the top of what's left of the dipstick and thread a screw into it. I used a drywall screw. Put some vice grips on the screw and pull. Adding some rust solvent like PB Blaster and letting it soak on what's left of the dipstick might help before you try pulling. Just make sure the screw isn't too big or it could split what's left in the tube.
The above instructions are exactly what I did when mine broke on my hemi. Drywall screw in a small hole.... yep works like a charm.
Now... go on ebay and buy a billet replacement.
There is a red anodized one being sold. It's a little bit smaller than the factory cheezy plastic handle, but it will not break.
It does get hot.
BTW... the 3.5 is a good motor. Just be sure to replace the rubber band before it breaks
