Does anybody know if it's possible to calibrate the outside temperature reading? Mine reads at least 4 degrees higher than the true temperature. Has anyone else noticed this?
Yes I did. Lots of people seem to have the sticking temperature, but not a high temperature. The sticking temp seems to be fixed by software version 3.61 which is what I have. I see that a post about the high temp was just made today in the thread you referenced, but no solution so far.
Until they come out with a fix, I just take my Hewlett Packard 12C calculator, do some complex calculations and get the correct temperature. Just kidding. But I always knock off 4 degrees.
I was playing around with the EVIC "Easter Egg" when I found this myself. Press and hold the Music Note and NAV buttons on the steering wheel and hold for about 8 seconds. You'll see the first page screen pop up telling you what version software you have. Use the down arrow until you come to the screen that shows two TEMP settings; TEMP RAW and TEMP AVG.
On that screen, you'll notice a RIGHT ARROW illuminated. Press that until the temps match or until the AVG is closer to your actual temp setting. You might have to fool around with it a bit to get it exact. Good luck!
Bob, I think someone has played with those settings before and completely hosed the temp readout. Actually, I know someone has, I just can't find the thread right now. Be careful when playing with those settings. Just an FYI.
