Hi All,

I have a stock 2006 CV 300C. I have been toying with the idea of painting the calipers but have absolutely no creativity. There are no other mods and I don't want to pimp it but I had a '92 T-Bird SC that I lowered (only 2") and did the calipers and it was understated cool. Does anyone have any ideas for colour or other subtle mods that would distinguish the car from the masses but not make me look silly (I'm 38 yrs old).

Thanks in advance.

I am going to do mine in red. I think red or blue would look good on your car. I bought a kit to do mine.

if your car is stock then caliper paint isnt where you should start. if you paoint them, go ahead and get a set of wheels to shot them off!

Not silly, bac... You look siiiiiiiiiiiccckk! Okay. Your ride does.

My question is, how do you paint them? Now, I'd be a rank amateur at this, so be kind, please, if these are stupid questions. Do you tape everything off and spray 'em? Do you use a brush? Or do you have to remove the calipers and then spray them? And if you were me, would you do red on my Inferno Red, or black, or silver (keeping my stock 20" SRT-D wheels)? (What about with chrome, if I ever go to 22s?) Or would you try to color match them? Is there special caliper paint? Do they need a high heat paint?

You can get caliper paint kits off of Ebay. I searched for G2 epoxy high heat caliper paint and there are mulitple colors. Thay also have kits at local auto stores in the paint sections.

You have to use high heat paint. On painting the calipers, when the shop painted mine, when i had my wheels installed they just sprayed them. They didnt tape anything at all. There is a caliper spray paint in just about every auto part stores.
There are no stupid questions!

Thanks, guys. Any opinions on colors, for my Inferno Red?

And harv, I didn't mean to hijack this thread. The first thing that popped into my mind for you was trying to do something in a white, but I agree with the others that yellow would really pop against the CV. I guess it depends on how much of the caliper is seen behind the wheel. If you're keeping the stock 18s, I think the yellow would be great, 'cause a white wouldn't show that much at all through them.

You young whippersnappers. I'm 63 and have red calipers. Painted with PlastiKote(900 degree) caliper paint and I think they look fine, go for it!

Thanks all for your input. I'm thinking about going yellow. I'll try and get some pics up once it's done.
