I was curious if there is an easy way to get to the options selection on the Mopar remote start?

I didn't know that there was a run time option when the dealer installed my remote start. So it's set at the 10 minutes from the factory. I would like to change it the 15 minutes. The manual that came with the remote start tells you how to get into the options menu, but says you need to enter the transmitter learning mode to do so.

Will I have to reprogram both transmitters if I go into the option menu? Is there an easy way to get to the option menu?

Thanks

I got this from a tech -

i hope he has an option list handy because i don't remember which item it is on the list.
to access option menu:
-hood closed
-key on
-depress and hold programming button
-after 10 seconds, the lights should flash 3 times. this is transmitter programming mode. release programming button.
-depress and release programming button. the lights will flash 4 times. this is option menu bank 1.
-press and release brake pedal. the lights will flash once. this is item 1 on bank 1.
-i can't remember which item is for run time. 3 maybe?
every time you press and release brake the lights will flash the number of times corresponding to the item number.
-once you are at the correct item number, depress and release the transmitter button to toggle between selections.
-to exit programming mode, key off.

if the horn sounds when transmitter button is pressed, you might want to pull the horn relay until programming is done because every time the lights flash, the horn will sound. his neighbours might not appreciate it.

Hope this helps you a bit.

Sweet. Thanks.

So basically you just skip the transmitter learning portion of it. I was gonna try that but did not know if it would keep the previous programmed settings for the transmitters or not.

Will give that a try.

Thanks

Did you ever give this a try? I'd like to change my setting so that it runs for 15 minutes now that it's colder...

Thanks,

Yes I did do it. The dealer did not mount my LED light where it was visible, so I pulled the plastic trim off underneath the steering wheel to get access to the LED light. When you get to option 4, if the led is on, it is set at 15 minutes run time. If its off, you are set at 10 minutes run time. Its easier to check that than it is to actually time the run time.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I appreciate the information. Now I just have to find where the dealer burried the LED light. Was yours on the remote start "brain box" under the dash, or just an LED light under the dash?

The light is on the end of a short wire stemming off the wiring harness. Just following the programming button's wire back to the harness and your light should be very close to that point.

Umm - this is great info, but... I just asked the dealer "I bought the remote start from you and you didn't give me any option for run time. I've learned it can be set to 15 minutes, can you do this for me for free?" And he said "yes."

The dealer should set the time for free, IMHO.
