Everytime I get out of my car, regardless of the footwear I'm wearing, I get electrocuted as soon as I touch something metalic. I could be standing around for 5 minutes and shake someone's hand and ZAP, they fall to the ground.

I know I've got an electric personality, but this is really uncomfortable. It's like someone telling you to hold a wire that you know is live. My hair's getting frizzy and I'm tired of the cardoversion. I'm afraid to touch anything, especially the gas pump. Anyone else have this problem? I don't want to put some ugly anti static strap under my car.

The first thing that comes to mind, regardless of your high energy personality, :D is that you might be building up a static charge sliding across the synthetic suede (can you say "polyester"?) seat inserts.

I used to have that problem on an Intrepid a few years back. I never did figure out what it was, but like you, I knew I was getting zapped from the first object I touched after getting out of the car. It's the only car I had ever experienced that on.

static electrical charge

Rambit... you indeed are picking up a static charge from the seats... same thing happens with I exit my Suburban... now the important part... If you've ever seen the video of the lady who slides across her car seat, then exits to pump gasoline and ignites the gasoline fumes when she's holding the nozzle, you'd be glad that the spark happens, somewhere other than at the gas station! In her case, she never grounded herself and the spark was certainly enough to ignite the fuel.

Your electrifying personality may be a conversation piece, until it ignites gasoline! It won't necessarily explode (won't BLEVE), but it will get your heart rate up higher than moments before!

thank you jrs

words of wisdom, i,am a weights and measures inspector part of my job is to inspect gas pumps, we have safety meetings all the time on this same subject. allways try to ground your self after you exit your car before you start pumping gas. good luck.

How about an anchor, chain and 10' of scope just to be safe. :p
opps wait the scope would have to be chain for proper ground so anchor and 10' of chain don't want any confusion remember safety first.

Don't mind me I'm just going nuts just waiting on a car but of course not just any car but the car.

Maybe you could use a pair of those anti-static straps hanging from the rear bumper, with some reflectors maybe.

Yes, I have seen that video & that's what concerns me. I may just go out and get a lightning rod. One of my trucks was the same every time I wore a particular pair of running shoes. I got a new pair and the problem went away.

Is it faster, slower, anything break, race any cars hopefully not leaving the club (I did'nt say anybody was drinking; why I never drink in a club, earlier post by somebody else) I never really understood if you could get siris to work in Frenchie land, if you did how is it. I guess what I'm trying to say is how about an update for us underclassman who have yet to grad e ate to mopar status yet.

I've got a little over 1100 km's on it now in the month I've had it. No problems whatsoever with the car other than black gets dirty fast. I've always had black vehicles so this is nothing new to me. Anyone not into washing cars shouldn't buy black. The roads up here are terrible. I hit a pot hole while excellerating from a traffic light and heard a really load bang from the right rear wheel area. At first I didn't know what it was then I realized the pot hole was one of those that always hit you bad. There's no use swerving to avoid it 'cause there's another one beside it.

Not that I'm really into it, BUT :) I can't seem to find anyone who wants to take me on. I did have a guy in a Grand Prix try, but it was so pathetic it wasn't worth my effort. I just want to see how fast it is to some real competition. A guy in a 5.0L Mustang GT raced me a little a couple of weeks ago. He had no idea what I was driving. He rolled his window down at the next lights and asked if I thought I could take him, all the while looking at my front wheel. That's a tell tale sign as they see the big wheels and brake calipers. I said I thought I could and proved it. Then a Viper pulled up along side his doors, geared down and left him in the dust. The Viper pulled along side me and we both smiled and drove on.

I'm sure up here a lot of people don't even know what type of car this is, let alone that it's an SRT8. There seems to be only a handfull of 300's here that I've spotted, and believe me, I've been looking. There must be more but I just haven't seen too many. I've gotten some thumbs up and nods by the kind of people that look like drug dealers or pimps to me. I think it's just because they think it looks cool. It would make a great pimpmobile though. One thing for sure, it seems to appeal to women of all ages. You can just tell by the "look" they give it. I know my pompus assed bank manager next door neighbour likes it. I catch him looking at it from the corner of his eye as he's pulling out in his Ford station wagon or Honda minivan loaded with 4 snot nosed kids and a snooty pregnant wife. I think he's breeding the next generation of mini bank managers.

Hey, careful on the "Frenchy" land. I'm from Ontario! :) Kind of a touchy subject to some. I took a year long French course in Quebec and after speaking nothing but French 8 hours a day, you get a little sick of it. Our professors didn't speak any English so it was quite difficult at first. If you're in any kind of federal government employment up here, it's pretty much a necessity to become functionally bilingual these days. If the CRTC ever gets off its bureaucratic ass, maybe we'll get Siris satellite radio some day. Same goes for our limited GSM cell phone network system. :mad:
