DETROIT, July 2 (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler's (NYSE
CX - News; XETRACXGn.DE - News) Chrysler division on Friday said it was recalling more than 20,000 vehicles, including its all-new Chrysler 300 flagship sedan, because of potential safety issues.
The recall affects 12,211 Chrysler 300s and Dodge Magnum sport wagons, hot-selling vehicles that both recently went on sale, the automaker said.
It said problems included a potential need for tightening of front seat safety belt attachments, and battery cable connections that may need either tightening or repair.
Some Chrysler Sebring and Jeep Liberty vehicles were also included in the recall, which affects 20,060 vehicles overall, Chrysler said.
"It is anticipated that a low percentage of vehicles will need repairs," the company said.
No accidents or injuries have been linked to the recall, a company spokesman said.
Chrysler attributed a slight increase in its June U.S. sales to the success of the boldly styled Chrysler 300, which went on sale in April.
