at first i thought it was just the ride or suspension, but after paying closer attention, i dont think it is anymore.

going over bumps, any bump, i hear a clunking noise.

sounds to me like a boot is loose or breaking or somethin. definately not a normal sound and it's only coming from the front passenger side tire.

i always go slow over bumps, so it sounds to me like a faulty component of the suspension.

anybody else have this?

im taking it to the dealer monday. irritating.

is that not the worst sound you've ever heard? (aside from an engine noise.)

every time i go over a bump i cringe.

yes its horrible. sounds like something is going to break and fall off the car. It didn't start doing it until like aweek ago and sounds like its getting worse.

Most often it is the sway bar bushings and end links going.

my car has only 9000 miles.

Sway bar bushings are the usual suspects. Good thing is they are cheap and easy to install. If you don't want to swap them out, look for a decent local mechanic. The dealer will clip you for about $150 or so to swap them out.

did you check the lugs on your wheel? I had a similar situation and it turned out the lugs had worked themselves loose. just a thought and it's easy to check.

well my dealer called me this morning.

its the front passenger side strut. was leaking and now its bad and will be replaced.

only thing is "there are none around and it wont be til friday til we get it in stock"

oh well, im out of town all week anyways.

well the dealer has had my car for 4 days waiting for the strut to come in.

didnt think it would take this long to order the part and now they say it wont be til next week.

so much for the car show this weekend.

i had the same problem.. every time i went over a bump, i'd hear a bump.. it was frustrating as hell..

then i realized it was my 3 iron floatin around in the trunk!!

Take it back and drive it until they have the part in.

yeah but the dealer is 30 minutes away from me, and im still a little pi22ed that a brand new car with less than 10k miles already has a problem.

i just want it fixed, dont want to make it worse either...

its a terrible noise and i cringe every time i drive near a bump.

hopefully it's ready monday.

i got my car back today. it's all good. replaced the strut, no more clunk.

Take it to a different dealer.

No clunking is normal.

Do the 300C's typically kind of thud over bumps due to their stiffer suspension? I understand you guys had much loud clunks, but are they prone to being a sort of "thuddy" suspension?
