Hi HEMI57.
I have a better idea for Melb. viewers. On the first Tuesday of each month there is a Chrysler only cruise night and show at the Sugar Art Cafe on the corner of Manningham Rd. & High St.Lower Templestowe (about one klm. from Shoppingtown & next to Safeway). On the 6th Dec. at 8-00pm they are cruising down to Williamstown foreshore for a snack and refreshments. Last month about 50 Chryslers of all era,s turned up and as the weather gets warmer they are hoping for greater numbers. Sound like a good idea?
Cheers.

arnold, yeah, it does sound like a good idea.

I am working out of Sydney at the moment and away on Tuesdays and I am not sure how much longer the travel will go on for. I'll do my best to get along to one of these cruises.

Hi HEMI57. No answer from anybody, guess they are all out there driving. Got to tell you that I drive about 175klms every week day and todate have only seen one other on the road. Black one came up along side us on the Eastern freeway saturday a week ago, just after a Commodore driver nearly hit the centre barrier trying to get a better look at us. Couple of days before a Commodore driver managed to drive up on to the nature strip and then the footpath, around the power pole and trees and back on to the road whilst watching me. And yes they both had their hats on back to front.
Have you managed to get some driving time in yet? If so what is your opinion of your purchase?
Cheers

arnold p, only 520Klm registered so far. I am going to try and make it along to the cruise next Tuesday, workload and place of work willing.

I think I mentioned in another thread, the 300C is a traffic hazard. Cars crowd you and shadow you all the time. Haven't sighted another 300C so far on the road. I have given her the WOT already and she does get up and go. :D

A trip up to the Murray is planned this coming weekend so a few more Ks and a bit of country town exposure for Hemi57.

Greetings to you both. I'm counting down the sleeps until this Friday where I take delivery of my brand spanking new, Bright Silver 300C and I can't wait. Hopefully it'll be parked alongside Hemi 57 on Monday next week! I'm busy at a meeting on the 6th in the evening but very interested to join in for a cruise at another time.

My Limo driver in Melbourne was blown away when he saw my 300C Hemi the week before last. Last week he was telling me he had told his good friend William to steer away from the BMW 5 series and take a look at the 300C.

Well the good news is, William bought the 300C Hemi and picked it up last Friday. Bright Silver with Sunroof. Got it from Berwick Chrysler.

Looks like we are starting to get ourselves a convoy :D

....

I am really, really happy with my Chrysler. Haven't had a chance to put many Km's on it yet (only 180km) but this weekend I will give her a good run.

Anyone in Perth looking at purchasing, I would happily recommend Chrysler Wanneroo, excellent service and hassle free buying!!!

Had a couple of people today saying that they love my new Bentley, and for a 26 year old to own one then you must be doin drugs.. ha ha ha idiots!!! :smoker:

All I can say is: What a car, pleasure to drive!! :)

DUB300, congratulations on the delivery :D,

Wait until you experience WOT. Beaut. :D :D

People I have introduced HEMI 57 to just can not believe that I paid under 100k.

I reckon the 300C is gonna be big downunder. But then I thought that March last year when I ordered my plates.

Hey thanks for all the warm welcomes!

I paid the dealer yesterday at 5.31pm and I've been given a registration number. I get the feeling that I may be only 6 1/2 hours away from what is sure to be a great experience....the first time I kick over that 5.7l beast!

On the drive home last night and the night before I've seen 2 x 300C's (Black and Silver) so there's no doubt that the popularity of this car is certain in Aussie.

 All I can say is - unbelieveable! After the wait, I picked up the beast yesterday afternoon and madly ticked all the forms and checklists at the dealer so I could get outta there.. You guys who've had C's for a while must just smile everytime you think about the first time you drove it out of the dealers yard. I know I have not stopped since! Anyone else have the problem that the window needs to be down all the time so you can hear that sweet song from the exhaust? It's like moving back in time to when the world was a nicer place - with a few modern refinements thrown in. I am blown away.....

i took the 5.7 out for a test recently and i've never been so impacted by a car on first drive. Absolutely loved it, didn't want to take it back, and was still thinking about the beast 9.30pm that night.

I would love to purchase one now but i might wait till the 06 builds come out.

Only problem i have is Chrysler have been incredibly slack in getting the brochures ready, i've been to 2 dealers and neither have anything but poor quality photocopies. And when i asked about accessories it was basically blank stares. They don't seem to know what might be available in wheels, one guy says 20in, other says 18in, then they say 22in MIGHT be available, who bloody knows what's happening.

Hi Guys,

It took me a while to find a forum about the 300c. I just found it so I have a bit of reading to do! I put down a deposit this week for a srt8. I can't wait!! I saw the 300c last year in Hawaii and fell in love straight away. What a beautiful car!!!

Anyone out there know much about the srt8 coming to Aus? All the dealers I spoke to in Sydney don't have much idea. One said he knew nothing about it, he said to read the wheels mag as they get the info before he does? How stupid is that. Another said they were bringing out about 100. 75 orders taken so far and release was mid to late next year. They are saying price of around 80-90K?

I was reading posts in another forum where alot of people in the US were waiting a very long time to get their srt's. Some got very frustrated over it, but others who got their cars said it was worth the wait to hold on.

I had a drive of the 5.7 last weekend at a dealer, it was absolutely belting down with rain, so not the best time to test drive one, but what a drive it was. They are fantastic.

Cheers,

Afternoon people. Hey Domenic this is the 06 model being sold here. DC told me yesterday that nearly the whole first shipment is sold. Guess they don,t need real good quality brochures if they are selling that well. I did manage to get an original copy(!) of the ad. that says "LET ENGINE COOL BEFORE KISSING" . For me , that says it all.
Snoopdolks, I was smiling from the time I ticked the box that said :engine option 5.7 litre hemi. Never thought I would be in a position to do that, so asked where the twin four barrel option was. Are you using vanity plates? Ours is AHEMI.

srt6.1, welcome. I did a bad thing this past week. I brought the Victorian plates SRT 61. Guess what I am thinking about doing?

arnold, I am looking forward to meeting you on Tuesday night at the Cruise.

SRT8 should be here April/May. Some people are saying +15k over the 300C Hemi. Brighton Chrysler are saying expect at least +20k. We will have to see eh?

To our mates from OZ,

The 5.7 Hemi is fantastic. The SRT-8 is unbelievable! You guys are going to love these cars. If you can afford the SRT-8 and don't mind the wait, that's the way to go. But the 5.7 is no slouch, either.

Hoo Roo,
Rick
