In an earlier thread, I had mentioned that fact that I would be taking my '300 Touring' into the dealer on Monday morning to have the fuel gauge looked at, since it has never read 'full' since the day I picked it from my dealer's lot.

Coincidentally, today, I received a Customer Satisfaction Notification from DaimlerChrysler regarding Instrument Cluster Gauge Accuracy which states the following:

The satisfaction of our customers is very important to DaimlerChrysler. Because of this, we are requesting that owners of some 2005 model year Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum vehicles contact their dealer to have the following service performed.

The problem is... The instrument cluster on your vehicle (gives my car's VIN number) may display inaccurate speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature, and fuel gauge readings.

What your dealer will do... DaimlerChrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will calibrate the gauges in your vehicle's instrument cluster. The work will take less than 1/2 hour to complete; however, additional time may be necessary depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed.

Obviously, there must be a lot of others out there also experiencing the same problem; otherwise, I'm sure that such a notification wouldn't have been issued. It's comforting to know that DaimlerChrysler is actually notifying the affected 300 and Magnum owners in a timely manner in order to take care of this particular problem. :)

Good Morning, Mr. DJ!

Hello, this is Brian Carotenuto. I had the same problem regarding the fuel gauge reading below "F" with a full tank. I probably was the first to address the situation back in December when I purchased my 300 (I took delivery of my CV 300 on 12/6/04). I received my letter from DCX back in late December. and had the car in for the software update on 1/3/05. No problems since! I hope this helps!

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto
