Ok this might be a dumb question but does anybody know if those obnoxious yellow and black decals on the sunvisors ( the ones that tell me not to put a small child in front due to the airbags ) will peel off? It looks like they will but I didn't want to try and rip the visor instead. They look extremely tacky as they are visible all the time, and I have no children. And if one of my nephews ever rides in my car I'm pretty sure I can remember to put them in the back seat

Take em off

I took mine off today. I have had my car for 79 days (but who's counting?)

Mine have NO RESIDUE. They came off in about 1 minute each. Wanna know the secret?

The Answer Is....

I'm not saying.

Just Kidding.

The answer is BLOW DRYER!!!!!

Start at one corner, full heat. Get it started with your finger nail then SLOWLY peel it off while heating as much as you can. This softens the glue which then comes off with the stickers!!!!

TA DA

No more stupid stickers, no glue, no nothing.

Happy Stickerless Motoring!

BTW: The same technigue works for exterior stickers on cars too.

Thanks for the info Dan... even if we had to drag it out of you!:wink1: So Dan, when you touch the fabric there's no stickiness at all?? I know this works on exterior stickers, but they're not on a fabric backing... and I wonder how this would work on those that have been cooked in the sun for a year like mine? Anyone try??

This isn't going to work for me cuz the old PT plaques I removed in favor of the Streamlines also removed one of the labels, leaving nasty glue residue behind... I'm thinking maybe if I applied waxed paper and used an iron I could get the glue to transfer to the paper and that might work.

Actually, the timing for this thread is curious as I am in negotiations with aspendog w/ 22elite about having my visors covered in leather or vinyl to eliminate the sticker and much easier to keep clean.

Thanks again Dan!

Someone once posted the same solution, and posted this pic. But if you look closely you can see where the sticker was located. Not saying your results were not perfect, but when I saw the attached pic, I chose not to go peel the sticker off route.

I forgot about that Joey! My worry would be that if you can see that mark it's probably adhesive residue, which means it will probably attract dirt and airborn stuff. I'd much rather have the decals than the warning labels or a rectangle of dirt, but my ultimate preference would be for clean naked visors. I'll let you all know what happens with my new idea...

Finished Product (Stickerless)

Here is what the visors look like with the stickers removed. There is a faint outline of where they used to be. There is NO sticky residue. Over time the sun will probably fade the rectangles. Only people like us who are lokking for the outline will ever notice. No more stupid yellow stickers. If over time they do become noticeable (which I seriously doubt) THEN I will put Hemi or SRT Stickers over them.

Happy Blow Drying!!!

Okay maybe this isnt the cheapest sugestion but get a suede headliner and visors it looks way better. Or if you dont want to spend the money on the headliner you could just get the visors redone in the same material or do them in suede. It should not cost to much just to do the visors. Just a sugestion!!! :smoker:

The absolute best way to remove those stickers without any remaining glue is with a steam iron. Take off your visors, they are much easier to work on this way. Dampen a folded wash cloth or small towel. Put the iron on steam setting. Iron the dampened cloth in a circular motion over the stickers. Slowly peal off the stickers a little at a time. There you are...no remaining glue, and no trace of where the stickers once were. I have used this method on several of my vehicles and it works perfect every time! It requires a little more work than just using a blow dryer, but the results are much better! Good Luck!
