Hi

Went to swap out my fuel filter this morning but cannot get the clips undone on the hose. Any ideas

I'm going to replace them with jubilee clips. See pick attached. Don't want a garage doing a job I can do-if it wasn't for the clips

I may be wrong, but they look like single use clips. If so, you need to get them off via destruction....insert screwdriver in raised loop and twist

KB - they are the one use only ones - may have to try a hacksaw as the raised loop was fully of solder by the looks of it

the metal will be very brittle. If you can get grips on the raised loop & twist, it may well snap

One time use im afraid buddy. Break em off GENTLEY and have a couple of decent new ones ready to refit.

.........and as you will have noticed, the in and out pipes are different sizes. I think I was able to prise mine apart with a small screwdriver. I found the nut and bolt type clamps easier to use than small jubilee clips.

They are not single use they can be opened and closed with pincers not unlike the type you would use to pull carpet tacks

I reused mine i just nipped with pliers and flicked them open with a screwdriver, just use the pliers to refit them.

Yes indeed you may be able to re-use them again but I never have. Not keen on there design anyway so have always used a much better and easier to use clamp to ensure they don't blow off which they can sometimes do.

Thanks guys. Used a small screwdriver and some slight force with a hammer to open them. Job done ?

And how much diesel did you spill down onto the heat transfer box directly underneath it.......slowly rotting the seals and eventually causing a huge oil leak.......lol..... and yes,the same as Roy,clip them back together with face cutters (pincers)

I was lucky and didn't spill any. Used new clips on the refit.

It's the silver cylinder with 2 pipes connected to the top of it in the Vee in middle of the top of the engine under the turbo pipe
