OKay, here's the deal. I have been waiting patiently since August 2004. My dealer told me to come in and order in mid February. I ordered on February 21st. I decided to get an update on my fully loaded ride.

I knew I was in trouble when the sales manager returned my phone call. They are past their allotmant and I am out of luck unless 4 others ahead of me cancel their orders. Funny how they can keep my deposit and not tell me of what happened.

I feel sick. He says I may have to wait for the build date in 2006 or 2007. Anyone have a gun?

Maybe I'll go back to my original thought of the cl 55 amg - but that car costs $80,000 MORE.

Kill me, kill me now! :(

Call around to other dealers, I know several dealers have posted here. I'm sure from what I've been reading that one can be had for around MSRP. If you are willing to have one shipped or willing to drive it home from another state than your chances are greater in locating one. Good Luck, I hope it works out for you.

silver 2006 srt-8 fully loaded
many posters claim to have gotten an 06 at msrp...I beleive them, and you might still be able to, but my guess is most dealers are now marking up. How much..probably negotiable. You should shop around, but if you can't find one at msrp, I know a dealer who has an allocated (scheduled for april build, late april delivery) silver one, loaded...

I don't think the 06s are priced yet either..so if you want an 05, there is a silver, loaded one on e-bay..(still bid at close to msrp)

I feel your pain ...

I was going around to the dealers in Sept last year, trying to get lined up ... they didn't even know what an SRT8 was .... it was funny ....

I got my order in on January 11th for an 05 .... it got cancelled, had another order get created for an 06 ... well, it got cancelled too ...

I was extremely unhappy ....

I've been hunting around for the last couple of weeks for one ....

I finally found one at a dealer, who was willing to sell for a very fair price, I picked it up for MSRP. The only problem, I'm flying there to go pick it up ... and driving it back ...... (1,200) miles ... I'll probably be one of the guys with the highest mileage one out there ......

I pick it up this Friday ......

Look around, you can get lucky too ....

Best of luck!

I'm interested!! Any idea on how much is delivery to California? Has to be less than 12.5k!!
If your interested, the sales guy (really good guy) told me that they have at least one (maybe two) fully loaded 06s allocated and scheduled for april build and delivery, and yet unsold. I have referred several people to them, but nobody wants to pay over MSRP. they are ASKING, I repeat, Asking, for $5k over whatever the 06 pricing turns out to be..I happen to know they would accept a firm offer of $2k over....

As far as the costs of shipping..don't know that, but have seen several posts regarding that issue. If youwant a phone number, PM me..

I'm having mine transported about 1,700mi to Ca. when it arrives in the
midwest. Prices range from $1,200 to $1,500 for an enclosed trailer. I don't think thats to bad, and thats door to door. Beats the markup they want in Ca. If my deal falls thru, my backup plan is to go with the C and install the turbo charger their developing for it. Cecil........

I'm beginning to feel like this "quest" is more about getting something I want than the car itself... not good. My gut tells me that the dealer is screwing me for higher bids despite my deposit.

I can't wait to drive up to the dealer in my new srt-8 and just smile.

Apparently I was given some misinformation from the manager I spoke to yesterday. The dealer does not know their allotment yet and will not know until April 10th. Still unlikely that i will get the car before June/July but the other manager will see what the owner can do. Btw, I called about 15 various dealerships in Cali and almost all laughed at me when I said I wouldn't pay over invoice. Rudeness. Damn I want this car!

For about only $35K you can get a late model ('04) E55 - did I mention the 469hp and 516 ft/lbs of torque. A real step up!
Buy now:

But it's not an SRT-8! Hell, he could get a ton of other cars for the money, still there’s only one SRT-8 and I believe that it’s made by Chrysler. If someone can put me in the same NEW car that’s an SRT-8 for 35K, let me know.

Hell, Redmond should be able to get you in a used M1 Abrams cheap.

I also live in Southern California. I felt your pain. One dealer quoted me $20,000 over MSRP. There were nights when I thought I would never find my SRT-8....and then I realized something. We, in Southern California are actually fortunate to live within 500 miles of 100 dealerships or so. Contact EVERY dealership. I know there are still dealerships willing to sell you one for MSRP. (The dealers who quoted me 5 and 10K over MSRP a month ago are still contacting me with similar offers which tells me the car isn't selling at 5K over MSRP.) Cars.com is a great place to begin your search (you can search a 500 mile radius). Good luck and fun SRT8 hunting to you.
