Hi. I just got an '06 300C RWD from an auction and to my dismay, I've discovered that it has a rod knock. I'd like to know, as an amateur, should I
A. Rebuild it myself and what should I expect to replace, or
B. Pull a 5.7 from a junkyard 300, charger R/T, or RAM 1500 and swap

Thanks in advance. I'll post updates as soon as I start the project.

Here's a video of the engine "running."

Personally, If you know what's what, I would pull a yard unit that you can tell will run fine. Then you can refresh it with a timing chain, some fresh gaskets, and maybe a cam/headers if you are feeling it. Then you will know the engine is strong. If you have the means you can sell your old engine to a builder to recoup some of the costs or you can work on fixing that one and selling it off as functioning. Mainly just fit an option into the time schedule that works for you. If you need the car now, a drop in salvaged engine will work. If you have multiple cars and the tools, rebuilds can be very rewarding.
