I'm sure a few of us have come across a broken door handle on oue of our cars.
Here is the problem, stupid design, how flimsy is the thing and hollow too boot:
What we need it a bit of reo, in this case it's just a bit cut off a suitable size bolt. Should be a tight fit in the hole, but not too tight to split the plastic. Need to add a bit of curve at one end because the hollow section curves around on one side:
Glue the reo into one end with a bit of super glue:
Then glue the other half on:
So there you have it, good as new. Don't know how long it will last, but did a similar repair about 18 months ago on one of the rear door handles and it's still holding together. This one will be the true test though, because it is on the drivers door.
