I recently purchased a pair of headrests with built in dvd/monitors of which I am getting ready to install.The question I have is do I have to purchase any special wiring harness to hook the headrests up, and would I have to remove the stock stereo in order to hook up to the speakers ?

easiest way to get sound to the speakers is to use the fm transmitter usually built into these screens. As for any special wiring harness, you wont need one.
