I have been very lucky with my C in regards to have none of the serious defects early production owners have well documented on this forum. That being said, one nagging little thing happened about a week ago: I cranked the engine, it started immediately only to shut down with a second or so. This happened three times in a row. The fourth time the car ran just like it always did before and since.

The engine was warm, tank full, sitting level, engine dry (hadn't sprayed it with water) and I was using the original sentry key....in short there was no strange circumstances that would cause such a thing.

Has anyone else expierenced such a thing?

Well, I'm only a novice, but I would get it to the dealer as soon as possible, to see if they can pull up any codes. Maybe they will be able to determine what it was that happened. If so, maybe this is something new, that we can all learn from.

Hey Frank29, this problem happened to me like 3 weeks ago. They solved the problem by reflashing the PCM. And it worked like a charm! It never :)knocks on wood :eek: ) died out since.. Here is the TSB's

02/22/05 … 2005 .. #18-011-05 …. Flash - Engine Roughness or Idle Fluctuation ..

II Kings - the car WILL start without the Sentry Key functioning, however it will die seconds after starting, per the owner's manual.

If the TSBs don't do it, I'd look at the key! In either case, I'd be drivin' a loaner car for a day or two while they checked it out at the dealer...

I dont know if this is normal and its suppose to do this but... I got into a little accident someone bumped me from the back nothing happen to my car (thank God) but the car shut off after he bumped me.... i dont know if the car is suppose to do that i turned the car back on once i saw there was nothing wrong with my car and it has never shut off since..

I know on fords there is a fuel pump cut off if there is a rear ender, I think though more of a bump that results in no damage. The idea of course is to stop fuel flow to reduce the risk of fires in a rear ender. I don't know if we have this

Someone please help me out I have a 05 300c and it does like he said will start and die sec.after the lil red light is not on nor flashing no codes I just got this thing so I cant just be throwing money at it I need to know does anybody know what's going on
