I had a problem similiar to that. When I started the car in the morning or after sitting at work all day at work the RPM's would jump up to about 1500 then go down to 400 or less and almost die....then catch itself and cycle back up to 1200 or so agian. Some times it would do it several times other times it would start fine.

I ended up taking it to the dealer and they performed a TSB flashing a software update to the PCM. It seems to have fixed the problem.... so far.

Fly by wire and a ghost in the machine..
TPS - Throttle position sensor. It's happened on mine once and never again.
Just turn it off, and back on and you should be fine. Report to dealer, but you'll most likely never be able to reproduce it while your there.
