Well after taking ownership of black betty for a few months now the exhaust note has finally got to me, really puts me in a shiit position of what brand to purchase living nearly 2,000km's away from hearing what a decent Hemi sounds like and what system they have fitted so I am doing the next best thing I can think of rather than throw 2K down the sink with something I might not be happy with I am hopefully going down in the next week or so and fitting up a set of high flow mufflers, not sure on what brand or what offset at this stage all I know is that something is going in, has anyone else gone this route before and what did they think of it?

I know about the MDS system drone and that won't really bother me where I live in a small town, might annoy me on the highway on holidays but I can always jamb it accross into 4th when it does

Based on the experience of everyone else who has gone down the path of modifying the standard exhaust or getting a local exhaust specialist to rig something up, I suggest you don't do it. The results have never been satisfactory.

Hang on a little while for Mopar Performance to get their systems available, check out RDP's or go the Corsa.

Cheers John, I have heard it a bit around the Forum but no one thats done it really chime in and say why we shouldn't so at this stage I am still going full steam ahead and getting something done, with my car already having both rear resonators cut out and replaced with straight pipe only thing that remains is the factory pillow mufflers so I won't have to butcher the system just unclamp it at the cats and bend up some 2.5" pipe and fit up some high flow mufflers, if it's no good i'll just slip the old system back in.

I'm sure 'Dyno' Steve has experimented with some on his shop cars so maybe he could chime in if he gets a chance and voice his concerns too :fing02:

I went the Corsa way after much discussion and deliberation.
Have not regreted the decision and it seems the sound only gets better the more you drive the car. How do I know that. The wife when she complains is getting louder to match the sound of the car. Only kidding. No not really.

hey guys, we try to maximise exhaust drone and produce a tuff sound and good performance increases. as well as we can setup the exhaust to suit your requirement and mds wise if you have a predator i can turn off the mds for you

Steve, can you knock me up something like this you have done before or do you need the car there? What's the cannons on the back? are they like a hotdog? or is something like this an off the shelf item? Whats the RRP for it? I can send you down my cats section for you.

PUS is this your system?

wog boy,, as you know,,, I went the Borla aggressive (5" tips),,, not the corsa,,, and it's only my opinion,,, but the borla aggressive gives a much deeper grumble at idle and while moving,,, small amount of drone on freeway,, but only when MDS kicks in,,, as i said,,, IMO,,, its pretty good,,,,

will attempt to post a vid,,, watch this space,,,!!

Hey Steve, do you guys happen to do an off the shelf twin system to fit the V6? Basically so that you pull the Y piece off and slip the rest on. Two tailpipes would look a lot better than 1.

You may say now you could put up with the MDS drone but wait till you experience it, it basiacally wrecks the car.

My 10 cents worth, don't fit ANY system until you have had a ride in someone elses C with what you want and see if you like it, and yes, go along the highway at a constant 80 or 90 and see what you think of the drone. Its bloody horrible

Thanks man, Living 2000 km's away from a decent sounding car doesn't help :thumbsdow :smashfrea

I'm heading off to Townsville in a few weeks, might head into the Dealership there and ask the Service Dept boys if they heard any tuff hemis come through their workshop and try to catch up with the owner/s :fing02:
