Here is the latest dyno data:

438 rear wheel hp
421 rear wheel torque

this accounts for a gain over stock of 71 rear wheel hp and 48 rear wheel torque. I would say that my new dyno numbers would represent about 510 flywheel hp.

the car is an animal now. the latest mod are ported/polished heads which gained 48 rw hp. we are still running the stock cam.

we are building a stroker motor and hope to see 490 rw hp soon. stay tuned. and we will get to the track sooner than later.

Those are certainly impressive numbers. I am surprised by how much the head work gave you, as DCX and the SRT team seemed to brag up the increase in flow on the heads....Maybe they are waiting to push it higher in the future.

I'm not surprised on the head numbers at all. Someone that knows what they are doing can do small miracles with head work, especially in the bowl area and equalizing all of the holes so they are identical.
There's going to be some sick numbers coming from the 6.1 sooner rather than later. Heck, the 5.7 will show some serious numbers soon I predict as well.

is it worth it for 10k....im all for power but at what price?
its real simple. if you dont want to pay for it, cant afford it, dont think its a good deal, then you dont buy it.

i bought it and am very happy with it. i think that this package is a great bang for the buck and that other SRT8 owners will be upgrading to the SRT500 package too.

Do you have any idea how much Hennessey may be charging just for porting/polishing the heads? Did you get increased valve sizes? Since they obviously work on the stock bottom end, the heads alone seem to be a nice mod.

they upgraded to bigger valves, better springs, retainers, vavle seats, etc. this would be a higher stage head. they are doing another srt8 with stock valves right now to see what the difference is in power. they are going to announce some pricing once they become a site sponsor.

Do you know if just doing the head work will be caught by the smog police? Cecil...........
For the power that 1st Magnum got, the head work would be a real nice mod and you would be okay by the smog police. All the head work is doing is increasing the amount of air/fuel you get into each cylinder for combustion and then helping get those spent gases out quicker. It is doubtful that you would even notice a change in emissions levels at the pipe at all.

i dont see any way at all. there is nothing visual that can be seen from the outside. and with a stock cam there should be no change in tail pipe emisions.

for the guy who is happy with stock- i was happy with stock too. but ive got a car now that should run 4-5 mph faster in the 1/4 mile and that advantage should help me keep up with some faster cars while beating a lot of others. that makes me happier.

first on the list of cars to run is an E55.

The heads on a performance car are usually the restriction. Its not really knowing how to port them (although you have to know how to port) the hard part is getting to pass emissions after they are ported. That was one of the main problems the Supras had, and that is why they could not be sold new in some states.

Can you provide additional information or links to this info? It is very unlikely that simply porting the heads is going to cause an engine to increase in emissions if all other factors remain the same. Now, if there was additional combustion chamber work being done on these heads, it is very possible to mess up the combustion process and result in increased emissions. This wouldn't be applicable to 99% of the head porting going on out there. I have done ported/polished heads with camshaft changes on several LS1s that easily passed emissions with the new parts. The cam can easily tank your emissions results if not selected correctly.
