I rotated the tires for the 1st time yesterday, got about 4800 miles on it. Maybe a bit premature, I admit.
Removing the last wheel, I was spinning the lugnuts off, and one of the many corners on the spokes, (where they meet with the center cover), caught my knuckle on my left index finger, and took a small chunk out of it.
Man, that thing bled all over the place, I was getting blood on the wheels, everywhere. I finally had to stop for a minute, and ask one of my kids to get me a bandaid to finish the job. Now good to go for another 5,000 miles.

I found the wheels to be ridiculously heavy, you might try some Mechanix brand gloves, used in racing, these do a great job protecting the hands. Rubber gloves for oil changes keeps grease off the nails and prevent minor skin nicks.
I will never rotate these tires again (and I do all my own work). Wal Mart rotates for $1.50/tire, asks what lug nut torque you want, and what pattern of rotation you want, finally they advise bringing it back at 50 miles to re torque the lugs at no charge (this part I will still do).

me too

The dealer will rotate the tires for me :) This co-incides with my third oil change at 5200 miles. (this time with Mobil1). After checking for the tranny water situation, the seat groaning when it slides back and forward, the brakes grunting when I stop, the temperature gauge being off, and spurious characters in the evic..

Im off this weekend for a 1200 mile round trip so everything better be in good shape

Tire rotation

This may sound anal but I rotate my tires at every oil change. My Camaro had over 50,000 miles on it and the tires looked almost new. This was done every 3,000 miles. It all depends on how long you want your tires to last and are willing to shell out money earlier than you would have to by a little preventative maintenance.

I read that these tires must not be torqued by the air rachets, tightened only by hand.
I think i read that in the owner's manual, mine need rotating right now 5500 smiles already in 4 1/2 months.
