LOVE IT...LOVE IT...WIFE LOVES IT!!!
I gave up on my ordered car...I"ll go back and get my deposit this next week,
It's been over 10 weeks and I was told 5 to 6 weeks...I had been feeling like if it did make it to the dealer, my negociated price was $6,500 less than what they are selling these in my area for...Orange County, Calif..Most all SoCal dealers are $5,000 over MSRP..and my gut feeling was it would have been sold out from under me. So a week ago I began my quest...paid off big.
Bright silver 300C with all options but uconnect...I cut the deal, made a credit card deposit and flew out Thursday evening to Kansas City, Ks.
Everything worked out as negociated prior. Dealer sent a driver to pick me up at my hotel on Friday morning... This was a stand up dealer, Speedway Chrysler in Langsing Ks.(this was the only one they had). I was at the dealer less thn 45 minutes, they had the car all prepped and even gave me a full tank of gas and my salesman, Gene Sirabela loaded my NAV with my home address and gave me a quick demo..NAV System is great, stereo thumps and is awesome, sirius SAT helped big time...
I took it easy through most of Kansas...for a good break in.
Stopped for lunch after 350 miles and then I picked up the pace.
Drove 900 miles day one, day two was the remaining 800.
Day two was a load, Kicked butt on a MB500 S coupe and a Audi A8...the pickup the 300C has from 80mph + up is unreal... unreal...unreal...to bad it stopped at 126MPH,...I felt like king of the road.
GREAT RIDE ...I'm estactic...So is the wife...had her drive it Down the toll road to Newport Beach..she got it up 115MPH...she loves it...we cruised our towns of Laguna Beach to Newport Beach for 2 hours and got looks, thumbs up and made us feel like teenagers again.. I don't know who's happier now that she drove it...she loves the power. :) :) :)

Sounds like the way to go for you west coasters. Just wait another couple of weeks for mine to get in before everyone else starts flying in and steeling all the 300C's here in the Midwest (KC). I should take delivery on the 23rd.

By the way, what kind of mileage are you seeing after and during your drive home?

Drove It Home

Welcome home you guys, sounds great. If I didn't have a fear of flying I might try it. :)
We are also waiting for our ordered 300C and I'm thinking of all the things that can still go wrong. I won't be happy until it's sitting in the garage.
We also live in Orange County, Ca., we will have to get a 300C wave to ID one another. :p

Thats an awesome story. I have been wondering why more people havent looked into doing this, rather then waiting so long to take delivery. I cannot wait to drive back to California in Sept. I am affraid of flying as well, so I drive across the county twice a year! Its so much fun! I live in Huntington Beach so we all need to hook up when i come home.

BIGTUNA...enjoy the great car!

Average Mileage

According to the on board average mileage computor...It was 20.7.
I believe this resets its self after each time you add fuel.
This was about the range I noticed when ever I looked at average mileage.
16.7-21.5...

This may not sound like great mileage, but I did most of my driving at around 80-85 mph and at many times even higher, found my self on more than one occasion demostrating the the power of the Hemi...not just to others but mostly to myself...Besides I didn't buy this car for the gas mileage! Although, this is not all that bad...and I feel as my foot lightens up the mileage will increase.

This car drives awesome...it feels smaller than it is, handles the curves like a smaller car. The power of the engine is stagering. On many occasions I noticed my palms were sweating, my heart racing from the adreniline rush after hauling ass through some wild turns at higher than the posted speeds.
Not once did I ever feel this car was even slightly losing its footing, or felt unsafe...super stable. I am beyond pleased. Were going down to San Diego today to show it off to some family members...I bet the wife drives it...

Love the gawking....You get noticed in this car where ever you go.
From the Midwest to the California Riviera...Newport Beach...were they are numb to awesome cars...its so common place, but this car turns a lot of heads and gets finger pointing and the women turn there heads too, just too see what the big deal is.... Even the young teens kids dig this car...
Man, does DC have a hit!

Hope you get your soon if your waiting, and those that have theirs...
I now know what your all worked up about!!!
This site help with the pain of waiting....you won't be disappointed!

Fernando... :) :) :)

break in peroid

According to the owners manual...it says to drive at lower speeds of 50-55 mph for the first 350 miles....I tried real hard to follow this, only after this intial period did I begin to go to higher speeds....I also did not use the cruise control for the first 850 miles. I made sure not to stay at set RPMs for long periods...bringing my engine RPMs up and down throughout the first 500 miles or so. Day 2, was a little different, I did use the cruise control, went to much higher speeds and actually tested the max speed of the car at one point.

My engine is now broke in....I would say it was broke in around the 500 mile mark. I have been an aircraft mechanic for over 18 years and know what a breakin process is. Autos are slightly different than planes, but an engine is an engine...just read your owners manual when you get your new car and follow the manufactures instructions and you will be OK.

My car now has close to 2000 miles on it....It feels great...Love it.
And boy is it fast....

Just like Bigtuna I gave up on the So. Cal dealers. I've been quoted $4,000 over sticker to order and $6,000 for a car in stock. I ordered one last week from a out of town dealer and will fly out and pick it up and drive it home. Now all I have to do is wait and wait and wait. No problem I've got another car to drive in the mean time and will get the color and options I want.

I'll have to get together withthe OC folks after I take delivery.

Can't wait to break it in and compare speeds to my friends CTSV.

Want my ordered car. due any day now.....I was about to cancel

Hey,
gotallthetoys...I have a Bright Silver 300c on order from a local OC Chrysler dealer. If you want one sooner I'll have you hook up with the salesman, say your my buddy.
It is due any day originally scheduled for 6/12 but now is for the later this month, its built and on the train. I was going to go to the dealer this week to pick up my deposit and cancel, I 'm sure they will return it because I have a smoking deal, $800 over invoice....Can't promise if they will honor that price, but you never know..The car was ordered on 5/02. with HID, Sound2, uconnect, & sirrius......
I ended up with a fully loaded Silver 300C minus uconnect...That I bought out of state...
email me if your interested or for that matter anyone else in Orange County, Ca.

I have a 300C that I took on a 2,600 mile trip last month. I averaged 24.9 which included a day and a half of city driving. The 1st half was lower MPG, but the car only had about a 1,000 miles on it. I DID NOT baby it either. Paid a $180 ticket to prove it!

If it resets itself after each fill I would be very surprised. It has a reset option just for that reason.
