Here's a video of the new exhaust on my 2007. I asked my exhaust shop if I should order a cat back system and if so which one. and he said NO, that he would just make it and it would be a lot cheaper. It sounds great. He removed the resonators and just piped it across and installed Series 40's from Flowmaster. Easy and only took about 2 hours.

That's an excellent way to approach opening up the exhaust on a first gen SRT8. You don't need a full catback since the stock pipes flow well. The most restrictive piece in the stock system is the muffler and removing the resonators will give you that much more sound.

I Did the exact same thing with my 5.7 and it sounds exactly the same. Love the sound !
