Anyone else have this problem. My gas light won't come on unless my car is turned off and then back on.
Ex. I can drive till the needle is touching the black bar on the bottom of E, no light will come on. But if anytime, where the needle is in the red area, i stop the vehicle and restart, the light comes on, low fuel.
Any ideas, i have had it in twice for Chrysler to look at it, they say its working fine.

My manual says that the light doesn't come on till you are down to approx. 2 gal. of gas left.
My EVIC reads miles to empty, until the low fuel light comes on, then it no longer reads miles, just shows low fuel.
That's real useful.....Mine still reads miles left. I've go t an '05 with EVIC 3.61. When it says 2 or 3 miles, you've entered vapor's only land. I had it down to 3 miles once, filled up at 19.8 gal - back when gas was cheap(er).

No offense, but it's never really a good idea to run your vehicle's fuel tank down to a near empty position. By doing so, you're leaving your engine susceptible to possible injector damage caused by the fuel pump sucking-up the dirt, sand, and sludge which collects at the bottom of your vehicle's fuel tank over time. Running completely out of gas in a fuel injected vehicle makes matters even worse.
