Just called and got a status on my build. They told me it was in Gateline. The rep said the frame is being built. Is this what Gateline means and how long will it be till they acually complete the car? It was in D1 status with a build date of 5/26. Am I going forward or backward? Cecil........... :AR15firin

Gateline means D1 - just another way of saying it.

D1 Gateline schedule - scheduled to be built

At least you're not going backwards

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't the car basically built in 1 day?, and aren't frames already built? I understand it being built over a couple of days if it is started late in a shift, and paint can add days, and inspection, but am I the only one who thinks saying " the frame is being built" as one of the stupidest things a dealer has ever said? (and they say alot of stupid things.) Hey, maybe they will start stitching the seats on Tuesday.

Actually, the 'gateline' is the sequence of cars as they're going to get built. If it's being framed one day, it's probably going to go into paint later that day, and then the body line (where the trim, interior, and exterior parts get put on) the next day or so.

At the risk of getting your hopes up too high, Qictrk, having a car that's in the gateline is a very good sign that it's either about to be built or in the process of being built right now.
