After replacing the F1s early on, I've been keeping an eye on the treadwear on my General AS03s. I replaced the F1s at 8000kms, and just hit 30,000kms.

Unfortunately, I wasn't keeping a close enough eye.

The inside shoulder (about an inch or so), on all four tires, is nearly or on the wear bars, while the rest of the tread still has about 30-40% life left. Sigh, alignment.

So consider this a PSA: when you put new rubber on, drop the $100 to get an alignment done, every time. I"ll get some pics done when the rubber comes off.

Now I have to decide... do I buy 2 new F1s to match the nearly pristine OEMs from the front rims, or just say "screw it" and get another set of 4...

I have the original F1s the car came with, and while 2 are toast, the other two show barely any wear at all (including on the shoulders). My intent was to buy two new F1s for the rears, and put the two good F1s on the front. I'm not the type to mismatch tires. The 4 AS03s on the car now are all toast due to the inner wear.

I ended up ordering another set of AS03s, but this time in a 255/45/20. I'll get an alignment done once they're on, and run 36PSI to see if the inner wear problem is solved.

I just dropped serious coin on new Michelin Pilot Super Sports. You bet I paid the 89.00 for an alignment!

This car wears the tires perfectly, if you can avoid too many burnouts they wear evenly front to rear as well. For me the surprising part is well over 70k miles and no parts ever needed. That was a surprise.

BTW, this car has never been as hooked up as now. These PSS's are the real deal, so worth it...

Can you give any details on the differences you are experiencing with the PSS's? Did you stay with stock sizes? I'm contemplating those tires and have been wondering if they are really worth the extra bones.

TIA,

Man, I cannot say enough. My sixth set of rubber, I'm kind of hard on tires!

I've had RSA's, Toyo Proxes 4 (x2), Hankook Ventus V12, Vredstein. My last set (Hankook) started off nice but like many cheepies wore really fast and rapidly became like they were greased. The toyos were quite good but also suffered as they aged also, losing performance dramatically.

The new PSS have unbelievable traction. Wet or dry. The rear end is almost tamed, very hard to get loose now. Especially launching out of a turn, these tires HOOK!

Add to that they are quiet like a mouse and have less than half the noise and harshness of the others. DRAMATICALLY different, not just subtleties.

If they wear like most Michelins I will be a really happy guy for a long time...

Awesome information....thanks! I'm surprised to hear that they are that quiet. Sounds like they are worth the money, especially considering how many brands you've tried so you have a good foundation for giving a reputable review.

In Australia they are worth about $4000 a set of 4. Myself and moparlife had them on our last cars and will be replacing with PSS on our current model srt8.I HOPE that helps

Just changed my tires to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, kept the same stock tire size.

All I can say is WOW, transformational, they are not just a little better than the stock Goodyear supercar tires, they are MUCH better in every category. The grip is amazing, they ride extremely smooth and quiet, steering response is excellent, and are night and day as compared to the Goodyears in the rain which loved to hydroplane at the slightest puddle.

If anyone is on the fence about getting these don't be, IMO they are worth every penny!
