2 local dealers had a loaded black and vanilla 300c in and i tried with both and forget it they both lied both said neither had 300c's in stock so they could persuede me into buying theirs it was rediculous what these dealers to you you i have had many cars and Chrysler by far has been the least honest
dealership i have worked with. And the managers were even worse not polite saying they were giving me a courtesy to call me back and such. And giving me 29000 for a loaded Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer sticker price 48000 and allowing me 29000 with 11000 is rediculous. Overall the dealerships in south jersey have turned me away from this car and becareful not to rush into this car or u will get burned. I guess if u want it bad enough and dont mind then fine but be prepared for this kind of treatment.

Two dealers offered you 29,000 for the expedition. You should have taken it! That is a completely fair appraisel. I just looked at the auction report and that is exactly what they are selling for at the auction, with the same miles. I am assuming yours is a 2004? One thing you must remeber is it is a car and not a house! They do depreciate! So for you to say that they were screwing you, they were not in any way shape or form. They were giving you current market value.

Obviously you aren't too interested in purchasing a 300c. If you want one, do the right thing and sell your car private party to get the most cash out of it, and be prepared to negotiate with the dealer and salespeople.

Buying a car is never a pleasant experience until you drive off the lot. I'm not sure where you've been treated so highly, but when salespeople have their hands on a hot car, they can often times care less about your wants for customer service and a fair deal.

Play hard ball or keep the expedition.

You have to remember that with oil/gas prices at the levels they have been, even new SUV's of that size are selling at quite large discounts...they just aren't moving like they once did.

Trade ins

The dealers in Chicago raped me on my trade-in. I had a buick regal GS owed 18000 more only gave me 10000, was hoping to get at least 16500. Anyway traded it in and got my C back at the end of april, yeah it leans to the right but what are you going to do.

You know it is so easy for people to say that the dealer "screwed me" or "raped me". I am so sick and tired of hearing that excuse. Let me ask you this. If you knew that you were being screwed and raped then why did you do it? You must like getting screwed and raped. Why do some people have to be so ignorant? If you don't like what you are getting for a trade sell it your self. Then you will see what it takes.

They probally looked at their dealer locater and it showed that they didn't. That is the only thing they can judge by. It is entirely possible that the other dealer did have one and it wasn't showing up in the dealer locate. Do you honestly think that dealers are going to drive around to every dealer in the metro every day to make sure they don't have a car? Don't be so sure that the dealer was lying to you. He is using the information that he has.

Hey nj300c, call Sanford Chrysler in Toms River (732) 349-5050. Talk to Art. That's who I went through. I know it's not exactly "South Jersey", but maybe they will do better on your trade. I have no affiliation with the folks except as a customer. Also, don't expect to dicker too much on sticker price. These are selling at and above sticker right now. If you can't deal with that, wait until it is not the greatest gotta have it thing!

chill redwinger

im not ignorant it just amazes me that i took 24 calls today between the 2 dealers and they were both going against each other all u have to do is go online to chrysler.com and look at the online inventory that is updated every morning to see what dealer has what and both show they have C's they are taking for granted that they didnt think i went to the dealerships to compare prices like a good consumer does and not someone who just says ok ill take it for 800/mo for 60 months. everyone who paid out the wazoo for this car better hope it has a good resale value. Dont get me wrong i like this car but im def going to wait till the hype and ripoffs have stopped. thanks for the constructive advice and everyone who has their cars congrats

You must be a window shopper. If you were serious about the car, you would walk into the dealership and make a deal you feel comfortable with. By comparing 2 dealers prices WITH each dealer, all you are doing is creating an overly dramatic situation filled with "conversation filler."

I can't imagine you have had very good experiences purchasing cars in the past with this sort of attitude. Stop beating around the bush, figure out what you want to pay for the car, tell the dealer, make a deal or walk out. They WILL make a deal with you as you are walking out. They want to sell the car. It does no good on their lot. Be firm, be rude if you have to.

Or go buy a Mini Cooper and get a free ballooon for being a good customer. :D

FWIW I walked into the first dealer I shopped at willing to pay $1000 over MSRP. I walked out paying $900 over MSRP before the $1000 rebate. I paid $35k before tax and license.

I had gotten quotes from $3000 over MSRP to $9000 over MSRP over the phone. This is in Southern California where people have been known to pay those markups. Bottom line is: You don't mean business to them when you are on the phone. Go in with your checkbook in hand and let them see it.

I can see why you are so bent out of shape. $48,000 for a expedition!! I would be pissed at the world to. If you think that this car is a rip off at fully loaded $38,900 you have another thing coming. Ripoff is $48,000 for a expedition. Their is no car on the market right now that gives you as much bang for the buck as this vehicle does.

48000 was the msrp on the expedition i didnt pay that i got 5000 off at the time and ended up paying just under 43000 and i did walk out of both dealerships the one had the black one sold as soon as i told them to refund my deposit and the dealer down the street from where my business is is still calling me on my cell at 6pm to work with me but it way off from where i want to be i think $700/mo for 60 months is reasonalbe for a chrysler

Is that how you think? "they should give what I think is reasonable for a chrysler" and then a payment of $700? If that is the case I think 100 a month is reasonable for a ford where do I sign? They better give it to me or I will walk out the door and go try cadillac for $250.00 a month? How about this I have a brand new pt cruiser on the lot for $600.00 a month for 60 months! WOW you must be thinking what a deal considering $700 a month for 60 months is reasonable for a chrysler

If you weren't so buried upside down in that POS ford you would be under $700/mo...
Even if you agreed to the deal I doubt you could pull the financing rolling in that much of a balance. I've been in the car business before.

So what you are saying is that they should base your trade in value off of the original MSRP??? How is that when you didn't even pay that for it to begin with... Even at 5k off you paid over $5k too much for the thing... So say the true dealer cost on the expedition was $38,000 and you got $29k for it... That's only $9k in depreciation over a year, quite normal for only one year of ownership. You are also trying to take a C from dealer stock. I guarantee if you order one you'll get a better deal, you'll just have to wait

I agree with this, and everyone considering the car should consider this as part of the equation. No one should complain about paying sticker for this car
as Chrysler has put it on the market for a very reasonable price point. And you can be sure the price will be going up on a regular basis as new model years come out, etc. Where else can you get a 340 horse rear wheel drive sedan that is "loaded" (by my standards) without options (exactly how I bought mine), for $34K? Sure, get the best deal you can under the circumstances, but be real!
