GS Motorsports is proud to announce that we have completed some key modifications for the LX platform 5.7 and 6.1

Race ESP Mod:

Completely deletes Traction control(esp) and Torque management on shifts points. This mod is worth nearly a 1/2 second in the 1/4 mile on the stock lx platform with No Codes..no more pause between shifts and no traction hold back from the ECU at the flip of a switch.!

Fan Control:

This mod Brings the fans on early keeping max temps on the motor down 10% or on the the 195 degree thermostat at crusing speed( no codes)

These mods will be aviaible from GS Motorsports as a complete package as a pre made turn key modification with instructions for an easy install on any 5.7 or 6.1 LX platform 300c/Magnum/Charger

Scott,
This sounds like a sweet mod, but of course, we need MORE INFO!

Not asking for trade secrets or anything else, but how and what are appropriate questions to ask and for you to answer here as well as install instructions.

I don't think some additional details are too much to ask...

Awesome Scott. And fully compatible with Stage II Jet Chip I presume, since there are chipped LX's running around out here?

My car's in town for a few days. PM me if you've not tested your mod on a 300C with the stage II jetchip (& all appropriate breathing enhancements); we should do it. 'Car's immediately available. ('05 'Nilla C, 15,000 miles. 1000 miles on chip with no codes, no hic ups, just goes like blazes.)

Great stuff! To be sure, flip of the switch means on/off? Easy install tends to be relative in my experience, can you elaborate? Thanks!

Is it a chip, or a new program?

I understand what it does, but not really sure how y'all are going about it.

vvv90, you could pull the fuse to kill off ESP, but the disabling of torque management is a nice add on, as is the fan control. People at the track will love the fan control, they'll have more consistent runs because heat soak will be kept to a minimum.

We don't want to jump down GSM's throat on everything that they offer, remember that there isn't a whole lot of other vendors offering what they are for us right now. Hopefully the market will get bigger just because that means lower prices for us consumers, but for now I'm really glad to see they are offering other "mods" for the car, it helps drive excitement for the platform and encourages other companies to make more products available.

GSM, I'll be on board with this product as I enjoy listening to an automatic squeal the tires making the 1-2 shift and I am assuming that this is a result of this little "box"

Torque management is PART of the ESP/TCS system. Pulling the fuse will do the same thing. I'm not getting on GSM's case here, but I felt it was fair to let everyone know this.

The Skip Barber drivers at the SRT Experience had no problem getting the car to threshhold brake and drift shredding the tires every which was just from this simple fuse pull.

I'm not suggesting either that the GSM product isn't worth it. Personally I feel the fan control is a good benefit.

HOWEVER!

My other concern is the ABS and Brake assist. When you pull the fuse you lose these also as I understand it. If GSM's product allows you to removed ESP/TCS/Torque management but still retain the ABS braking I certainly might consider this product.

All I would like is a dissertation from GSM about HOW this product works.

It's frustrating sometimes when vendors come on these forums, post claims about a product (i.e. 1/2 second 1/4ET increase, ) and don't explain to us how. We're a pretty savvy group of techie guys that want the details as we should because afterall, it's OUR $45k car we're putting in their hands.

If I understand the service manual correctly the engine is controlled by the PCM only.

Both the TCM and the ABM (Anti-lock Brake Module) modules communicate to the PCM through the CAN-C BUS.
The ESP system is monitored by the ABM but the ABM does not control the engine. It makes request of the PCM for power reductions. The same way the TCM request torque reduction when the trans is getting ready to shift.
The request the TCM makes at shift points is one of the things this mode is supossed to eliminate. I don't know if the lame launch is due to the TCM or ABS but I pulled the #17 fuse and could not tell any difference.

The PCM is the only thing that controls throttle position, the injector pulse and ignition timing.

Hey folks, for everyone that has been trying to get a hold of GS Motorsports, they have been extremely busy. They will be open tomorrow from about 9am-mid afternoon for orders and questions. We will be back on later on this evening (after dinner) to try and answer some more questions, Shaun spent some time on the phone with Scott this afternoon, and he & I should be able to answer most questions.
