What are people referencing when they mention Heat Soak in regards to Cold Air Intakes. How do you know which Intakes have issues with this?

Thanks

Shaq (sorry, I just can't resist, besides your username should be RayRay living in Seattle!! :) )

"heat soak" refers to how hot the intake gets under the hood. Different materials soak up heat faster, or get hotter - ABS, metal, alum etc.

The colder the air charge = more power. So if the intake tract that leads to the intake gets "hotter" soaking up heat under the hood - then, there is a power loss.

On a daily driver though, you really won't notice a difference.

I've said before - the Mopar is growing on me. Get the one you want to see when you open the hood - as ALL the intakes perform about the same.
