I’ve had this same problem since I got the car new. I had it in the dealership before for this issue. They updated the computer but that didn’t solve the problem. I have it in the dealership now for an unrelated issue and I asked them to take a look at the HVAC system again. I was having some trouble explaining the problem over the phone, so I sent the service manager this thread to review. They have since replaced the actuator (which didn’t fix the problem) so he told me they are going to dive into the wiring under the dash to try and find the problem. At least this thread got them going in the right direction.

"Just to update everyone one how this issue was resolved for me:

The mechanic at the dealership checked the logs on the car and found this:

2 active DTC's:
B1058-13 for recirc door control - circuit open.
B105C-00 For recirc travel range too small

He performed an actuator calibration. Test failed. He verified battery voltage on both wires, and determined there was an "internal open" on the actuator.

Replaced recirculation door actuator, performed actuator calibration and verified that all actuators passed at that time. All systems are working as designed at this time."

Do you know the part # and which door actuator it was? Isn't there 4 door actuator on the car?
Well, I got it back today. They checked the wiring and didn’t find anything wrong. The service manager I have been talking to wasn’t in today, but the guy that called said they did a full recalibration of the new actuator for the blending door and it works perfect now. So happy to get this fixed. For you guys that are having this problem, it's just as fieldzy0 described. Replace the door actuator and recalibrate, you'll be good to go.

Thanks fieldzy0! Your postings got my dealer on the right track faster.

It's a bit sad how often we tell them how to fix something when there meant to be the experts

About how much did that cost to do that Enforcer? (if you dont mind me asking)

I always feel like if I went to a shop or dealer somewhere and mentioned that I read about the issue on a forum and said what the fix was, they would look at me like im the stupid one... (I need a garage :( then'd id just do everything myself and learn hahhaa)

I'm not sure how much it would cost if you had to pay for it. Mine was repaired under warranty. It didn't cost me anything. ::biggrin::

Don't be afraid to refer the service manager to a discussion forum. That's what they are for, to exchange information. Like I said before, I got so tired for trying to explain the problem, I just forwarded a link to this thread to the service manager and said "Here, read this." Two days later it was fixed.

My problem is no heat from the passenger side at all. Plenty air but it not warm. Doesn't matter it it's on Manual or Auto settings

The driver side side works OK, it obeys the buttons, hot air on HI, cold air on LO.

Am I missing something , does someone actually need to sit in the passenger seat before it can work ?

My actuator was replaced on April 29. It still blows full hot air on sporadic occasions. Except for one time, I have been able to get the system back on track by selecting MAX AC until cold air blows out the vents, then de-selecting MAX AC. The shop won't even look at it anymore unless it fails while it's in the shop. Same excuse for my intermittent transmission hard downshift and intermittent UConnect buttons selecting the wrong function - it has to fail IN THE SHOP or they won't even look at it.

The dealer did a blend door re-calibration but it did no good.

With the horrific threat of complete dashboard removal for investigative purposes by the dealer I thought I'd investigate myself.

Having removed the passenger side glovebox before
in a previous 2nd Gen
I soon found the troublesome blend door actuator. Unplugged it, and
removed the 3 torx screws that secured it to the unit, plugged it in and
started the engine, it worked OK, the cogged wheel was turning.

So I put it back in place and observed that the blend door was moving
correctly and hot and cold air produced when the passenger side
temperature control on the HVAC screen was adjusted up and down.

The system has worked fine ever since.

I took out my 2013 300C glovebox and couldn't find the blend door actuator. Where is it located? And where can I find the recirculation door actuator?

I'm getting frequent hot air with Max AC and sometimes no heat. After 20mins of driving, or with frequent on/off cycles, the AC will blow cold again. Everything works like it should in terms of air blowing out the correct vents but the temp is either all hot air, or no hot air. I have the automated climate control.

The Left Hand Drive 300c will obviously have the glovebox on the right hand side of the cabin and I'm not sure if the HVAC unit has a blend door on that side.

On the RHD model a blend door is on the left behind the glovebox and access to its removal is easy.

So here's what my 2014 300C is doing. Had the problem with the uncontrollable heat. Dealer replaced the sun sensor and the actuator and it kind of fixed the problem. Now, on a cool day (43 degrees F) in AUTO mode, the system warms up the cabin until it is comfortable. While it is warming, the warm/hot air is blowing from the behind the instrument panel at the floor as it should. Once it reaches the desired temperature, it then starts gently blowing cool air out of the panel vents in my face. Not ice cold, just cool, but enough to be noticeable and uncomfortable. I know the panel vents are adjustable and include an off option, but it didn't used to do this. If I raise the temp, it goes through the whole cycle over again until it reaches the warmer temp and then starts blowing cool again. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Dan.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but my issue seems to be shared by many. I have no issue with taking my car into the my local dealer, but as the car is now outside of it standard warranty, I want to know as much as possible before I make the call.

I'm having a similar issue with my '13 300 SRT8. Since it started getting cold, my temp controls have no worked reliably and I've had periods where I was being hit with hot air and cold air and I have no ability to change the temperature. Controls are responsive and indicate new settings - but nothing happens.

If I turn off the car (fully) and restart, controls work and temperature does change reliably for several minutes. However, after a bit of time, controls work, but the temperature will not change at all. While driving, if I set the desired temperature and then turn off the climate controls, wait 10-15 seconds and turn them back on I will actually get the desired temperature. The temp controls still do not work after doing this - unless I shut off the climate controls after selecting a new temperature (at least there is a work around in my case).

Latest occurrence was this morning, it was 48 degrees outside and dark (before sunrise). I was able to reproduce several times as made a couple of stops. When I arrived home, I shut of and started the car again. I sat and went from high to low temps (back and forth) several times, no issues. I moved the car a short distance to the garage, and then I couldn't change the temp again. I hear no clicking sounds or anything that is pointing to anything specific - other than the fact the temperature controls do not work.

Any insight into the specifics of the issue and/or part numbers/diagrams would be appreciated. Also - are there any any procedures for testing on the 2012-2015 model year to see if any specific codes are reported (and visible to me without a dealer scanner)?
