My 2005 Chrysler 300C came with stock HID lights (lo-beam) which I have only ever changed the DS1 I believe they are lights. When I drive now the passenger side one flickers and goes right off then will come on later. When I click my hi-beams the HID lights come back on, but will then flicker again down the road. Passenger side only.

I guess my issue is I have auto supply places telling me the DSI has the ballast built in to it there are no other ballast's in the car. Then I have someone else telling me to take my headlight out and there is a slim pan shape ballast behind light.

I just want this to go away lol people flashing lights back at me now. Any other info you fellas need let me know. You guys have always been a wealth of information with any other issues. And my 2005 300C has 445,000 kms (276,000 miles) and runs like a top. Well everything but the lights right now.

there are separate "Valeo" ballasts to these lights, (separate from the bulb), so your auto suppliy place are wrong VALEO LAD5GL OEM HID BALLAST - USED

Valeo OEM Replacement Ballast LAD5GL [OEM-VALEO-BLST]

swap the bulbs over between the right & left light. If the problem moves, you know its an issue with the bulb. Otherwise its a connector / ballast issue. If you choose to change the ballasts make sure you count the pins first - two types have been used with different pin counts. They live under the light cluster (mounted on it)

The ballasts just recently became a separate part available from Chrysler. This was not always the case and they would only replace the entire headlight and ballast assembly. Now they can do one or the other or both.

thanks very much guys. I will take headlight housing out and have a look and see how many pins before ordering. I also noticed fog lights are out tonight : / Checked fuse and actually replaced both bulbs with new, but even on the dash where the display would light up saying they were on does not come on????????

Sounds like you are getting no power to the fogs for some reason. Check all the connections back to the firewall. It could also be the switch.

First, though, replace the fuse and check them.
