Has anyone upgraded to higher watt "xenon coloured" high beam lights?

I'm looking to get more light at night on the back roads and to get a light that looks closer to the 300C's xenons.

I found these but am worried about the wiring or overheating.

Manufacturer: StreetGlow
Bulb Type: Halogen, Xenon Superwhite
Kelvin Color Temp.: Not Rated
Wattage: 80w

There is a different brand called "eaglight" or something like that and they have a 100watt xenon coloured bulb.

Any thoughts or knowledge?

Thanks

I'm very happy with Sylvania silverstars for the high beams on my SRT-8. They are 4,000K and brighter then stock. You could also run Toshiba 2,350 lumen HIR's but they are 3650K and more yellow looking. The silverstars look brighter side by side and match the stock hids better.

I, too, have the Sylvania SS's in both cars, hi and lo beams. Think they are great! Good white light, no issues due to hi wattage ...... that's why I got these. Also, no issues with fast burn - out as some may suggest. Even got noticed by DW (darling wife) and she doesn't even see the freezer behind her spot in the garage. Ooops, 'nuther story.

Are the silverstars higher wattage? Were they easy to put in? I too think it's crazy to have yellowish high beams with the cool HID low beams. I'm switchhing to the Hoen H10s on the fog lights, if they ever get here..

I have a nice 50 Amp 8-16 volt power supply and the 9005 silverstars tested at about 72 watts at 13.8 volts on my Astroflight digital watt meter. Don't worry about the wattage as they are "very close" to stock and they are DOT approved.

The installation takes <1 minute on one side and <5 minutes for the other as you need to take a screw out to lift the air box. It's very easy. Just don't touch the bulbs with your fingers.

Great, thanks! I think I'll check with Hoen to see if they've done some color matching on those. I'll verifiy but that's the 9006 bulb, right?

Thanks again.

Autolumination.com is the place to go

100w head light replacement bulbs are Xenon Plasma 9005 Super White (bluish tint), a steal at only $4.99 ea. from http://autolumination.com.

I have run these bulbs in my fog light housings (push a tad harder while you twist & they snug right in) for the past several months with no issues and they are awesome - brighter than stock by a factor of 2.5 and are, indeed, super white, almost blue. A near-perfect match for the HIDs and a great supplement for the DRLs.

I've also changed out all interior lights with bright white LEDs. Those numbers are here:

The front map lights: from http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm, the 9 LED Festoon Bulb, Color: SuperWhite, Size: 39mm, $6.99 ea.

The front under-door lights are # 562, 44mm rigid loop festoon.

The rear over-door near the grab handles is a # 194 bulb. located here: http://autolumination.com/194.htm

There are many choices for the 194 bulb. I use the multi-led one that has lights going in many directions.
