Has anyone modified the rear arm rest to include a hole to insert items which will not fit into the trunck?

Example: Hockey Sticks or Skis

cut out a hole that is large enough to fit one of the square tissue boxes and when not using it to store hockey sticks or skis, just stuff the hole with the box and no one will ever know the hole is present and you'll have a convenient tissue box holder. you could also make the hole about the size of a dime and stick something else inside to stuff it WTF Man

Standing at just under 7' tall, one could imagine how big my skis are. Not only did I cut the hole in the armrest, using a dremel, I also cut a hole in my dash just above the nav screen to accommodate these and other long items. Works great and I recommend this mod to all. I suppose for tall items, holes both in the floor boards as well as the roof would certainly be helpful.

You should be able to shove the hockey stick between the seats while one is folded down and then gently fold up the other with the hockey stick sticking out between the two.

Its ugly but it'll work.

Switch to golf and just throw your clubs in the trunk like I do.

We often car pool with other parents / kids and that requires 2 bags in the trunk and sticks.

With just my son and myself it is fine to put the sticks in the back seat.

We play golf as well but hockey is #1.

If you do decide to do this job may i sugest you stat by having a look at the Audi set up i beleive they have the best one with Hard access door and water proof weather bag that comes through the rear arm rest if you do it right it should look fairly good a be quite functional.
