I had a problem with my 3.0 CRD as it would always start OK from cold but began to have a problem restarting when hot. Only solution was to wait an hour until it cooled down then it would start right away.

Car is high mileage - 130,000 miles (mostly motorway at 2,000 rpm)

Dealer seemed to have no idea so I took it to an engine specialist who tested the Bosch injectors and found four were leaking. They replaced them with new - I probably should have replaced all 6 but at 1200.00 (UK pounds) it was already prety expensive,

This totally fixed the problem...

I had a set of new NGK glow plugs, cost me 75.00 on eBay, but the engine guy would not fit them as the old ones were not showing any faults and he said there was too much risk that the old ones could snap off when he removed them ! Any thoughts on this ?
