I'm ready to have my Sirius radio antenna cover painted bright silver but need your input. Is this a DIY job or better left to the dealer? Does the black cover pop off or is it part of the antenna? It seems like a primer would be needed first followed by a simple spray painting. But, what do I know...If there has been a previous thread on this, I would appreciate the link to it.

Thanks again!

rogue,
isn't your cover painted? I think I remember seeing a pic or your ride with a body colored cover.

The antenna has a hook assembly that will make it quite difficult to remove even with the headliner dropped. I'd recommend having it masked and painted on the car by a trustworthy shop.

I had mine done for $45 before I installed it (oem sirius addon kit).

Thank you 300CUL8R and rogue. I had a feeling it wouldn't be that simple...

I have never liked how the cover (or whatever it's called) sticks out and having it painted would allow it to blend in better with the car. Many other vehicles now come with painted covers and they are even smaller in size.

However, none of that dampens just how much I love commercial-free radio stations!

I posted the same thing a month or so ago, do a search under Sirius antenna painting. Had mine painted free of charge when I took her in to repair a dent on my door

Did you ever get it painted bruno? I thought BT was coming out with something. The Canadian cars didn't come with that option in 05, but my Jeep will have it.
