Hey I lost one key for my car and need to buy a new. Can I buy one off of ebay and get it programed at the dealer. because I heard they are like $150.

Be careful, these keys can only be programed one time. If it has every been used, it will be useless to you. Compare the Ebay offerings with Wyckoff, one of this forum's sponsors.

Your right about taking it to a dealer. If you have two valid keys, you can program six additional keys sitting in your driveway. With only one key, you've got to take it to a dealer (or at least have access to a scan tool).

And some dealers will refuse to program a key you bought elsewhere, claiming it would hurt the car to try. I dont think it will cause any harm, except to your wallet, it just wouldnt work. But of course, if they refuse, your out the cost of the key.
