The dash kit shown here is from http://www.edashkit.com/. It is model CR3005 M. This is the full kit with door panels, nav system, but without their version of the HEMI logo. The colour is Walnut Burlwood, said to be a close match to the Tortoise Shell OEM trim.

Ordering:

You can order on line. We chose to phone and discuss various kits and colours. Once the order is placed, EDash must manufacture it, assemble, pack and ship. Our kit took 3 weeks to arrive.

Preparation:

Installation was done by two of us. we checked all the kit. there were 5 panels. The 300C Hemi logo in the 1st pic did not come with the kit. It is the rear trunk logo from DC. It cost about $20.00.

Alcohol swabs come with the kit, but we had a jug of Methyl Hydrate, so we used that to clean all surfaces where the kit was to be applied.

Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned.

Installing a Dash Kit (continued)

The kit comes with tubes of 3M adhesive promoter. This is applied to rough surfaces prior to applying the veneer. It must dry for 5 minutes.

A hair dryer is used to warm up each piece prior to application.

Line up the piece to be installed before removing the red protective film from the back. Ensure the fit is perfect. Start application from an end point. Do not allow the other end to touch down.

Carefully set down each edge working in one direction only. Thin pieces can be postioned easily if they are warm.

Have a soft cotton cloth handy to smooth down the applied piece.

Voila! Your first piece is installed.

Just keep repeating the process until you are done. Total time for the two of us was 2.2 hours each.

Below is a gallery of the finished result. Please note that due to the mysteries of digital photography, the colour of the wood varies from photo to photo. We believe the walnut burlwood to be a very good match with the tortoise shell.

In summary, we were more than pleased with the fit and finish of this kit. It warms the grey interior and brings the interior ambiance to level comparable to the exterior. what doesn't show well in photos is the 3 demensional aspect. Each piece appears as a sculpted piece of wood. It is identical in quality to factory wood trim. This 300C need not shy away from a Jag or a Lexus.

Wow, looks very nice. Thanks SO MUCH for pictures. Picture guides are such a great help, thanks very much Northern.

I can't believe how extensive these kits are. Every little nook and cranny are covered. I could't believe they cover the lock knobs too. Wow.

I really like the product from NYCDashes, but the only thing peeving me off is that their kits have the holes for steering mounted controls. If I get the Touring I want, it won't have those. and having the holes there are not going to look very nice :(
Hey, that looks good. I might have to get some extra pieces for mine but I'm afraid Noel at woodtrimwarehouse might not be there any more as I have been trying to contact him as he said he would replace a damaged piece on my cup holder door, but I have sent him 2 e-mails the last 2 weeks but have not had a reply. He said he would replace it last Oct.

Anybody else having problems with this outfit? They were quite good when I first contacted them last August.
THanks Northern Rider, the pics look great and I like the idea of using the rear badge right above the glove box. Since you custom ordered the pieces, if I wanted the same kit what should I ask for? Do u have a spec sheet with the pieces ordered that I can look at?

Hi Projekt 300C, the info is at the beginning of the post: "... from www.nycdashes.com/, one of our forum sponsors. It is model CR3005 M...."

You can see the layout on their website. Mine is a stock order. We installed everything but the outboard vent surrounds on the front dash.

Hope this helps.

WOW! Great post Northern Rider! Thanks, you've definitely set the "bar" on tech posts!

Yes it does. Thanks. I must have been still sleeping when I started to read your post. Opps :D
Thanks for taking the time

Thanks very much Northern Rider.

Those who are considering that kit will be much assured.

Also thanks for taking the time and effort to put together the comments and pictures to illustrate the process.

Impressive : It adds more Bentley/Lexus factor to the car

Question: Is the material NYC's real wood code # RWBW, or NYC's wood-replica code #WBW?

It looks just fabulous

TIA

Thanks for the kind words. It is the replica. It was a closer match to the Tortoise.

BTW, if you like the photos, you'll love the kit. It is hard to photograph. I had my local dealer owner in the car today. He drives a 300C and has an awesome collection of older Mopar stuff, (including a gorgeous Imperial, Redman). He didn't notice the kit right away. When he did, he couldn't believe the quality, and how well it enhanced the 300C. He couldn't tell whether it was burlwood veneer or synthetic, as all wood trims have a clear plastic finish on them).

If you like the inside of the British luxury cars - this is the kit.
other woods

I really appreciate the pics and info in this post. I too have been considering the addition of a nyc dash for my car whenever it shows up. What I am wondering is if anyone out there has used a different wood finish over the dark interior ( I have an SRT8 on order which only comes in the dark interior :( )and if there are any pics out there of something else. Keep it coming all !! Love the info! :)
forgot

I forgot to mention that I have ordered samples from nYCDash but they haven't arrived yet.
MOST helpful.
Have been considering same style of kit for some time now (non-tortoise).
Appreciate your excellent photo galleries showing us how a close-match really looks.
5 Stars!
can we use armorall on our dash kits? i don't want to ruin the finish...

NO, NO, and NO!! It will tend to loosen the "glue".
Where can I get methyl hydrate for cleaning the surface. Is alcohol good enough?
