Isn't as easy to keep it new and clean as patented leather. How are the '05 guys' holding up? All the suede inserts at the auto show were dirty and matted down to a sheen. Granted, I know hundreds of people are getting in and out, but it's still a good wear indicator over years of use.

I've always been curious about this but LOVE the look and feel.

I would never put suede in a car. I have had suede jackets in the past and they sure don't stand up to wear and tear and the comment about the car at the show is a good indicator. Give me leather anytime but also add the bun warmers cause it sure gets cold up here. :D

I would not recommend anyone installing real suede. There are extremely cleanible and hearty faux suedes like Novasuede, Ultrasuede, and Sensuede. There are also many faux suedes (some call microfiber) that are cheap and do not have the same properties as the nice ones. There is however a huge difference in price the quality products are anywhere from $75yd to $125 and the cheap stuff is $10yd. Hope this helps.

But I'm referring to the suede that comes standard in SRT-8's. Not a real choice there, but thanks for the information. :)

Did not even notice which forum the thread was in, sorry. I am not sure what product they used but one would think, because of warranty issues, DC would have chosen a quality faux...

I think it is faux suede actually. I remember reading somewhere that it is not standard suede, but some easily cleanable highbreed. After 3 weeks, still looks good on mine too. Of course, I've only got 600 miles on it and 140 of that was driving it back from the dealership.
