whats up guys

i dont know if this is normal
i set my low speed fan to 195
and my high speed fan to 207
my hs fan rarely turns on even on hot summer days
but for the past two weeks hs fan goes on every day, several times a day even on cool nights
is there anything to worry about or no?

well the only thing im worried about is my fan getting worn out the more it hits high speed and i barely got this dorman cooling fans

i live in cali, it gets hot here
but i read somewhere that even when they live in cali they rarely hear they're hs fan go on

my coolant is good btw

Yes, if it's on all the time then something is wrong. What is your coolant temp when it comes on?
ls fan turns on around 194 and stops at 188
hs fan goes on past 195-197, climbs around 203
then back to ls fan at 194 and below

i have a 180* tstat

If temps are getting that high, then something's obviously off with your cooling system. I get the impression you swapped out the stat 6 months ago and re-tuned at the same time. If that's the case and you only have issues now, I'd guess the stat is the culprit.

Otherwise I would have blamed it on possible trapped air in the system. The fan is doing its job, it's the cooling system which seems to be lacking in the capacity department.

PS: I wouldn't worry about wearing out the fan, really.

HS fan can be turned on by factors other than coolant temperature.

True, but....!

The OP states he's from CA. Which means he's been running his a/c for quite awhile now. So I doubt his a/c is suddenly responsible for the fans running all the time on HS. What else could cause this? Unless there's some important info missing, I'm still of the impression that he's got an issue with the cooling system.

well one thing tho, i dont over heat *knocks on wood*
i dont know what info I've missed
i dont use the a/c, only on really hot days

went to the beach at 3am
cold out, all side streets no freeway about 25 min drive
but hs fan still turned on eventually, not right away
then it cools back down to ls fan temperature then back down to 188-186 on the freeway

i have no leaks, as far as i know

today in the morning it wasnt hot, 10 min drive, only got up t 188 no worries
but maybe if i drove 5-10 mins more, i think hs fan would've come on

hs fan has been going on frequently since about 2-3 weeks ago

Just a thought but is it possible that your low speed fan has failed? That would cause it to go straight through the low speed range, putting all the load on the high speed.

When the car is perfectly cold remove the coolant tank cap and start the car... Allow it to reach operating temp and then replace the cap. This should burp the system of any air. If its still doing it then I would say its possible you have a bad tstat as well. Your highs will run with your a/c blaring but if its happening now for the first time as peter mentioned I doubt it is a/c related. Before ripping out the tstat check your predator settings again and make sure the on off temps are still correct, check your low is working and then if all else fails pull the stat.

There is your problem... Check your Diablo settings first before replacing... If they are correct then its warranty time.

If only one fan is on you have a bad relay or a bad fan motor. Jump 12 volts directly to the fan in question to test, it should run at high speed.

Note that HS fan operation is also commanded for AC high side pressure and trans temp as well as coolant.

I believe you introduced air when you changed the Stat, or the stat is bad. Pretty tricky to fix a car over the NET!

thanks for the tip
when i changed my tstat around march, i did the coolant flush also
i bled it til it was fully flowing
i also have the killer glass radiator hose so i see the coolant flowing at the right temperature so I'm pretty sure the stat is good
